On October 24, the newly built South No. 2 Runway and other projects (the eighth batch of airport projects) of the Xi'an Xianyang International Airport Phase III Expansion Project, in which PowerChina Airport Construction Co., Ltd. participated, successfully passed the industry acceptance and compliance inspection, laying a solid foundation for the airport to achieve "three-runway" operations.

This acceptance work was organized by the Northwest Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and jointly participated in by the CAAC Shaanxi Regulatory Bureau, the CAAC Professional Engineering Quality Supervision General Station, the CAAC Northwest Professional Engineering Quality Supervision Station, China West Airport Group Co., Ltd., Xi'an Airport Company, and all participating construction units. The acceptance scope covered earthwork and foundation treatment, pavement (road) surfaces, drainage, and perimeter fencing within the areas of the newly built South No. 2 Runway, taxiways, and other areas undertaken by PowerChina Airport Construction, and the project quality all met the standards.

The Xi'an Xianyang International Airport Phase III Expansion Project is the "No. 1 project" of Shaanxi Province's civil aviation development, a "benchmark demonstration project" strongly supported by the CAAC, and currently the airport construction project with the largest investment scale, the largest building volume, and the highest technical complexity in the Northwest region. The newly built South No. 2 Runway project that passed acceptance this time, as an important component of the Phase III expansion airfield area project, is of key significance to the construction and development of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport.

After the South No. 2 Runway passes acceptance and is put into operation, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport will become the first aviation hub in the Northwest region to achieve three-runway operations, and its comprehensive operational support capacity and regional radiation capacity will be significantly enhanced, injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of Shaanxi and even the Northwest region.
