Recently, the Contract Package II of the Bolivia Ivirizu Hydropower Station project, constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co., Ltd., was formally signed off with the owner's representatives and the supervising party, marking the project's official acceptance and smooth handover.

The Ivirizu Hydropower Station project is located in Carrasco Municipality, Cochabamba Department, Bolivia, and is the largest hydropower project by scale and installed capacity in Bolivia to date. Sinohydro Bureau 4 Co., Ltd. was responsible for the construction of the roller-compacted concrete gravity dam under Package I, while Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co., Ltd. was responsible for the water diversion tunnel works, access roads, primary and secondary water intake structures and associated hydraulic steel structures, and the operation camp under Package II.

The Ivirizu Hydropower Station occupies a pivotal position in Bolivia's energy landscape. Its successful completion is not only a key step in the country's energy transition strategy but also has far-reaching implications for the widespread use of renewable energy. At the acceptance ceremony, Marcelo Olito, General Manager of the owner company, said: "This is a milestone moment that will profoundly transform our energy mix. We are immensely proud to have completed such a great project."

The smooth achievement of this important milestone not only demonstrates PowerChina's technical strength and delivery capability in overseas water conservancy and hydropower projects, but also injects new momentum into deepening energy cooperation and promoting green development between China and Bolivia. In the future, the Ivirizu Hydropower Station will continue to deliver clean energy benefits, contributing to local economic and social development and providing solid support for Bolivia's energy independence and sustainable development.
