On October 22, the Lower Nzoia Irrigation Project in Kenya undertaken by PowerChina Municipal Construction Co., Ltd. passed the completion acceptance in a single round, achieving its construction target one month ahead of the contract schedule. The project has now officially entered the delivery and operational phase, injecting new vitality into the sustainable development of local agriculture.

The joint acceptance team was composed of representatives and experts from Kenya's Ministry of Water and the National Irrigation Authority, and conducted a detailed field inspection along the entire project line. The team focused on inspecting key facilities including the main canal, secondary canals No. 8 to No. 14, tertiary canal No. 10, and the owner's management camp, carrying out a comprehensive assessment of project quality, appearance, and completion status; it listened to detailed reports from the supervising engineer and contractor representatives on project implementation, key quality control, engineering safety and environmental management, and subsequent operation and maintenance plans; and it simultaneously reviewed relevant project archives and records. Subsequently, after full discussion and deliberation, the acceptance team unanimously concluded that the Ken Nzoia Irrigation Project had completed its main construction strictly in accordance with the design documents and construction specifications, with project quality meeting standards and complete documentation, and agreed to pass the completion acceptance. At the same time, the acceptance team also put forward specific requirements and guidance for follow-up work such as defect liability period management and the handover of relevant equipment and documentation.

As a key livelihood project in Kenya's push for green agricultural development, the completion of the Ken Nzoia Irrigation Project will significantly improve local agricultural irrigation conditions, enhance the resilience of agricultural production to climate change, and further contribute to Kenya's food and nutrition security. Achieving early completion this time not only fully demonstrates the project's strong performance capability in balancing quality and efficiency, but also reflects the successful cross-cultural communication and collaboration between the Chinese and Kenyan construction teams, adding a vivid practical example to the joint development of China and Kenya under the Belt and Road Initiative.
