On October 17, 2025, the Post-Show Information Release and Media Symposium of the 17th China (Beijing) International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machinery and Mining Machinery Exhibition (BICES 2025) was held in Beijing. At the meeting, Qi Jun, Director of the Expert Committee of the China Construction Machinery Association, delivered a speech titled "Comments on the BICES 2025 'Three New' Activity." Good morning, everyone!

In order to further promote technical exchanges among relevant enterprises of the exhibitors, boost the promotion and application (implementation) of "new technologies, new products, and new achievements" (hereinafter referred to as the "Three New") in the development of the industry, and on the principle of voluntariness and without charging any fees, the BICES organizer provides value-added services to exhibitors. Regarding the latest progress in product innovation, technological innovation, and achievement innovation among the exhibits at BICES 2025, through the release of the "Compilation of 'New Technologies, New Products, and New Achievements,'" it centrally showcases the cutting-edge innovation achievements of the construction machinery industry and leads the future development direction of the industry, which has received active participation from a large number of exhibitors.

Entrusted by the BICES 2025 Organizing Committee, the expert group participated throughout the verification and confirmation of the "Three New" applications for this exhibition. During the four-day exhibition, the expert group conducted comprehensive and meticulous verification and confirmation of numerous declared achievements. The overall situation of this verification work, the main highlights, and relevant suggestions are summarized as follows.

I. Application and Confirmation Work

1. Application situation: To date, the "Three New" activity has received declared achievements from 65 enterprises. Enterprises such as LiuGong, XCMG, SANY, Zoomlion, TZ, China Railway Engineering, LGMG, Fangyuan, Zhangjiakou Huatai, and Jiangsu Jicui actively applied, covering professional fields such as excavating machinery, earthmoving and transport machinery, lifting machinery, concrete machinery, road machinery, tunneling machinery, aerial work platforms, industrial vehicles, steel bar and prestressing machinery, components, intelligent and digital solutions, new energy technologies, environmental protection technologies, and remanufacturing. Each new product and new application is empowered and supported by multiple new technologies, reflecting the industry's strong innovation vitality.

2. Confirmation process: The expert group followed the purpose of the activity and conducted comprehensive consideration from multiple dimensions such as innovation, technological advancement, practicality, market prospects, green environmental protection, and social benefits. The verification process included document confirmation and on-site verification. In view of the innovation characteristics of the "Three New" applications, four experts were selected from the expert pool for centralized discussion and confirmation, ensuring the professional standard of the "Three New" achievements.

II. Main Characteristics and Highlights of This Year's "Three New" Achievements

Through verification, we are delighted to see that this year's "Three New" achievements collectively reflect the trend of the construction machinery industry's deep transformation toward "intelligence, green development, and high-end orientation."

1. "New" in the deep integration of intelligence and digitalization:

At the technical level: AI-based smart management, cloud control platforms, fault diagnosis, and unmanned driving cluster collaborative operation have become highlights. Many products have achieved a leap from "single-machine intelligence" to "swarm intelligence."

At the product level: Intelligent excavators, loaders, aerial work platforms, and cranes with self-perception, self-decision-making, and adaptive capabilities are emerging one after another, significantly enhancing the human-machine interaction experience.

At the construction method level: Intelligent construction method solutions matching intelligent equipment are increasingly mature, providing solid support for smart construction sites and unmanned construction.

2. "New" in comprehensive breakthroughs in green and low-carbon technologies:

Rapid progress in electrification: Full-series electrified products (such as electric excavators, electric loaders, and electric forklifts) have moved from concept to mainstream, with substantial progress in electric drive efficiency, battery technology, and charging solutions.

Diversification of new energy: Hybrid technology continues to be optimized, with an increasing number of application demonstration projects on large equipment and significant energy-saving and consumption-reduction effects.

Circular economy and environmental protection: Considerations regarding noise control, emissions, and reuse in the declared achievements have become standard.

3. "New" in independent controllability and high-end breakthroughs in core technologies:

Key components: Fruitful results have been achieved in domestic substitution for "bottleneck" links such as high-performance hydraulic components, high-torque electric drive axles, and intelligent control systems, further narrowing the gap in performance indicators compared with international advanced levels.

Application under extreme working conditions: Important breakthroughs have been made in special construction machinery and their adaptability technologies for special working conditions such as deep sea and high-altitude environments, demonstrating the strong resilience of China's equipment manufacturing industry.

Collaborative innovation across the industrial chain: There has been an increase in achievements from collaborative innovation among OEMs, component suppliers, and software service providers, reflecting the formation of a sound ecosystem of collaborative innovation across the entire industrial chain.

III. Suggestions from the Expert Group

The expert group witnessed the fruitful achievements of this activity. To promote the sustained and healthy development of the "Three New," the following suggestions are proposed:

1. Suggestions for the Organizing Committee:

Strengthen the publicity and transformation of achievements: Establish a "Three New" achievements database and matchmaking platform to promote precise alignment of advanced technologies and products with the market and user needs, and accelerate the industrialization of innovation achievements.

Persist in building the "Three New" brand activity: It is suggested that the Organizing Committee persist in and carry forward the "Three New" activity. Through careful planning, continuous innovation, and all-round publicity, make the "Three New" activity evolve from a highlight segment of the exhibition into a core brand activity of BICES, and become the preferred platform for releasing innovation achievements in the construction machinery field.

2. Suggestions for the industry and enterprises:

Encourage "breakthrough innovation" aimed at industry bottlenecks: Increase R&D investment, be courageous in advancing into the upstream of the industrial chain and core technology fields, and break away from low-level repetitive competition.

Build an open innovation ecosystem: Advocate deep integration of "industry, academia, research, and application" to jointly tackle common technical challenges in the industry.

Strengthen intellectual property strategy and standards awareness: While innovating, pay attention to the layout and protection of intellectual property, and actively participate in the formulation of international and domestic standards to gain a voice in the industry.

Overall, the BICES 2025 "Three New" activity was a high-standard and high-quality review of the industry's innovation achievements, fully demonstrating the construction machinery industry's firm pace and vigorous vitality on the path of high-quality development.
