Recently, the largest "linear Fresnel" concentrated solar power (CSP) integrated energy demonstration project in China—the Three Gorges Group Hami 1-million-kilowatt "CSP + PV" project, in which Shandong Electric Power Construction Company participated as a contractor—has achieved full-capacity grid-connected power generation. The operating parameters of all unit systems are stable and the equipment is in good condition, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent full-load trial operation stage.
"Linear Fresnel" is an important concentrating solar energy utilization technology in the field of CSP energy storage. It uses the principles of light reflection and refraction proposed by the French physicist Fresnel, and achieves efficient conversion and stable utilization of solar energy through four key stages: concentration, heat collection, heat storage, and power generation.
Since the start of construction, the project department has consistently centered on the owner's requirements, scientifically prepared construction plans, and strictly implemented the three core control requirements of safety, quality, and schedule. During this period, it innovatively adopted a management model combining grid-based and process-based management. Through key measures such as optimizing construction techniques and strengthening full-process quality supervision, it successfully overcame multiple technical challenges during construction, providing comprehensive assurance for the project's grid connection.
It is understood that after the project reaches full-capacity grid connection, its average annual power generation will reach 2.067 billion kWh, saving approximately 620,000 tons of standard coal per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.63 million tons. While greatly enhancing the renewable energy consumption capacity of the Hami region, it also provides an important practical reference for building a new power system with renewable energy as the main body.
