NEOM New City is a national strategic project under Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030," with total investment exceeding one trillion US dollars. Among its components, THE LINE linear city is approximately 170 kilometers long and 500 meters high; the city will rely entirely on renewable energy, be connected end to end by high-speed rail, and accommodate 9 million residents upon completion.

The ninth package undertaken by Sinohydro Foundation Engineering Bureau mainly involves monitoring pile construction. The works are located in Module 46, the core area of NEOM, and are divided into two parts: geotechnical engineering monitoring and durability monitoring. To ensure accurate data collection and analysis of the monitoring piles during construction and service, the project team has installed various sensors at different angles and depths on the reinforcement cages, with wiring extended to the surface for real-time monitoring of pile stress, concrete durability, and changes in various parameters during construction.

For high-rise buildings with long design service lives, the deformation and durability of the foundation are of critical importance. These monitoring piles are not only fundamental works for building structural safety but also undertake important functions such as data collection and carbon emission monitoring in smart city development. Unlike conventional engineering piles, monitoring piles must continue working throughout the entire building life cycle, collecting key data such as settlement, horizontal displacement, and deformation over the long term.

Next, the project team of Sinohydro Foundation Engineering Bureau will continue to strengthen refined project management and quality control, contributing the wisdom and strength of "China Foundation" to the construction and long-term operation of this future city.
