On September 5, the Southeast Asia Sub-exhibition of the 3rd Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition successfully concluded at the Setia City Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With an exhibition area of over 6,000 square meters, this year's event attracted more than 90 well-known domestic and international enterprises, showcasing products spanning concrete machinery, construction machinery, earthmoving machinery, mining equipment, emergency rescue equipment, agricultural machinery, and other fields. The exhibition drew over 2,000 professional visitors from nearly ten countries and regions, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam, for visits and business discussions. On-site contract value reached 2.227 billion yuan, delivering notable results and an enthusiastic response.

I. Exhibitors Reap Substantial Gains, Taking Solid Steps Toward Overseas Markets

This year's exhibition attracted more than 90 participating enterprises, including SANY, Zoomlion, LiuGong Machinery Asia Pacific, Sunward, Sinoboom, JCB Malaysia, Lonking Malaysia, Wirtgen Hamm rollers, Runtian Zhike, Wuxin Equipment, Yutai Heavy Industry, Hunan Youzuan, Tiandun Heavy Industry, Xiangjiang Paint, Hunan Gaobate Machinery, Hunan Chuangyuan High-tech, Mingshang Technology, Schager, CIDI Intelligent Driving, Hunan Fengri Group, Jinlong Cable, Hunan Wanzheng Machinery, Hunan Xingtong Automobile, and Rent Special Machinery. Through on-site displays, technical exchanges, and multiple business matchmaking sessions, they reached core customers and project resources in the Southeast Asian market in depth.

At the exhibition site, SANY Group occupied the largest booth, displaying a 20-ton excavator and a 10-ton loader, and during the show received mining companies from Thailand and Indonesia as well as an official procurement delegation from Malaysia. Sunward, in addition to exhibiting five machines, urgently coordinated four aerial work platform units from a customer to join the display, further enriching its exhibiting lineup.

Liu Junhong, overseas head of Xiangjiang Paint, said that at the exhibition the company connected with several Malaysian construction and heavy industry enterprises, was invited on-site to visit local companies, and reached preliminary supply chain cooperation intentions. Xu Hongxia, general manager of Sinoboom, mentioned that the company specially arranged for its Malaysian representative to borrow the tallest aerial work platform in Southeast Asia—58 meters—from a customer; it became the focus of the show during the exhibition and drew widespread attention. Through the exhibition, the company also established contacts with the Malaysia Heavy Machinery Owners Association and several other local business associations.

Hunan Youzuan Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., which has cultivated the Malaysian market for more than nine years, also drew considerable attention at the exhibition. As the chair unit of the Changsha Cross-border Trade Association, the company brought its latest hard-rock drilling technology and advanced construction methods tailored to local complex geological conditions. General Manager Shen Deyi said: "We don't just display products; we focus on sharing solutions, truly 'teaching people to fish' while also 'teaching them how to fish.'" During the exhibition, many customers drove three to four hours from Penang, Johor Bahru, and other places specifically to visit the booth for discussions, demonstrating strong market demand for China's high-end construction machinery products and technologies.

II. Collective Overseas Expansion Yields Results, Government-Enterprise Synergy Boosts Internationalization

Relying on a trinity model of "exhibition delegation + forums + matchmaking," and jointly organized by the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone SME Association and several Malaysian industry associations, this exhibition achieved efficient connections between Chinese and foreign enterprises. Including a number of specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative "little giant" enterprises such as Hunan Youzuan, CIDI Intelligent Driving, Mingshang Technology, and Hunan Xingtong, many Hunan machinery manufacturers achieved tangible results on their first overseas outing.

Companies such as Changsha Tiandun Heavy Industry and Hunan Hengzhixing Technology noted that through the exhibition they established contacts with institutions such as the Malaysia Building Contractors Association and the Malaysian contractors' associations, obtaining multiple leads on local engineering equipment procurement. Several enterprises in the delegation said that through such cross-border platforms, they can not only share customer resources but also reduce the cost and risk of a single company going overseas, truly achieving "group competition and mutual benefit."

III. Organization and Services Praised, Platform Value Highlighted

The exhibition not only provided a product display platform but also, through multiple high-level events such as the "Malaysia International Construction Machinery Industry Development Report Conference," the "China (Hunan)–Malaysia Economic and Trade Development Symposium," and the "Mining Equipment Cooperation Forum," facilitated face-to-face discussions between Chinese and foreign enterprises. Qingdao Utopia Supply Chain Co., Ltd. exchanged views with representatives of the Malaysia Quarry Association and the Indonesian Mining Association at the forum, preliminarily establishing Southeast Asian regional cooperation channels.

The organizers worked closely with more than 40 authoritative Malaysian business associations, including the Master Builders Association Malaysia, the Malaysia Hardware, Machinery and Building Materials Dealers' Association, and the Singapore Contractors Association, jointly inviting high-quality buyers to attend and achieving precise matchmaking. Huang Kai, dean of the Research Institute of Hunan Zoomlion Emergency Equipment Co., Ltd., highly praised the organizing committee's ability to integrate international resources, noting that many Hunan enterprises successfully connected with Southeast Asian government projects and industry leaders through the exhibition.

Companies such as Qianlu Shipping, Hunan Runtian Zhike, Mingshang Technology, and CIDI Intelligent Driving all reported that the organizers planned and executed the event based on exhibitors' actual business scenarios, greatly enhancing the exhibitor experience.

IV. Extensive Media Coverage, International Influence Enhanced

This year's exhibition received extensive coverage from more than 60 well-known Chinese and foreign media outlets, including Singapore's Southeast Asia Construction (SEAC) and The Star, as well as People's Daily Online, Xinhua Net, China Economic Net, China Daily, China.org.cn, Hunan Daily, and Changsha Evening News. Malaysia's mainstream media Sin Chew Daily and several local media outlets also participated in depth, achieving integrated all-media matrix communication across newspapers, websites, apps, WeChat, and screens, effectively covering more than ten countries and regions including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, with total exposure exceeding ten million views.

With the successful conclusion of this year's exhibition, attention has now turned to the 5th Changsha International Construction Equipment, Emergency Equipment, Mining Machinery, Agricultural Machinery, and Transport Equipment Exhibition, to be held in Changsha from May 12 to 15, 2027. At that time, the global construction machinery industry will gather once again in the Star City to pursue new chapters of cooperation and jointly create a new future for the industry.
