On August 28, the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Award Conference was held in Chengdu, grandly commending science and technology workers who have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological innovation in Sichuan Province. At the conference, the "Decision of the People's Government of Sichuan Province on the 2024 Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Awards" was read out，and China Construction Western Survey and Design Institute (CSCEC Western Institute) was honored to receive one first prize, one second prize, and one third prize for scientific and technological progress.

Focusing on the key scientific issue of "unclear mutual-feedback disaster-causing mechanisms under complex deep occurrence conditions," the project overcame difficulties in long-term deformation theory of deep rock mass, experimental testing equipment, and disaster-causing evolution evaluation.

Addressing the challenge of safety and stability control for deep and large soil-rock foundation pits along the riverside in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, the project achieved accurate prediction of mechanical behavior and spatiotemporal variation of parameters of the soil-rock interface under hydraulic coupling, and improved the foundation pit stability evaluation system and design methods under the coupling of dynamic water level and soil-rock interface. The results have been widely applied in major projects in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, producing significant economic and social benefits.

The project solved the difficulties of survey drilling rigs entering sites, relocating, and operating under conditions such as complex terrain and narrow environments, as well as difficulties in borehole collapse and coring during drilling in loose strata. It developed off-road lightweight drilling rig equipment and formed efficient green drilling technologies and standards, which are widely used in the engineering survey industry.
