At a time when the global "dual carbon" goals are being advanced in depth and the new energy industry is accelerating its iteration, the heavy truck industry is undergoing a critical transformation from the fuel era to the electric era. As a core participant in this transformation, XCMG Automobile has joined hands with Huawei Digital Power to jointly build a "heavy truck ultra-fast charging ecosystem," and on August 22 delivered 200 XCMG ultra-fast charging heavy trucks in Beichuan, Sichuan.

In the new energy heavy truck ultra-fast charging era, XCMG has once again pressed the "fast-forward button" for the new energy transformation of China's commercial vehicles with its leading technology and ecosystem layout.
Ultra-Fast Charging Mode: How Will It Change the Industry?
At present, the new energy heavy truck market is growing rapidly and penetration is gradually increasing, but the core pain points of heavy truck electrification—"range anxiety" and "charging efficiency"—remain prominent. XCMG and Huawei have taken the lead in breaking through technical barriers. The ultra-fast charging solution increases charging efficiency to six times that of traditional modes, achieving the large-scale implementation of megawatt-level ultra-fast charging for heavy trucks.

Xia Yongyong, Vice General Manager of XCMG Group and Party Secretary and General Manager of XCMG Automobile, said: "This time, together with Huawei, we have taken the lead in bringing customers the ultimate operating experience of 'charge for 5 minutes, drive 100 kilometers,' basically building an efficient operating model of 'same speed as oil and electricity,' and successfully setting a new global benchmark for new energy heavy truck ultra-fast charging."
Why does the electric heavy truck ultra-fast charging solution work? The key lies in how much practical benefit it can actually bring.
For electric heavy trucks currently operating on the market, fast charging generally takes about one hour, while XCMG's megawatt ultra-fast charging heavy truck can achieve a dual-gun current of 2,400 A, replenishing up to 29 kWh per minute, and charging for 5 minutes can provide a range of 100 kilometers.
Taking Beichuan as an example, estimates show that an ultra-fast charging heavy truck can save 1.5 yuan per kilometer in energy costs, saving 150,000 yuan a year—enough to save the cost of a vehicle in three years—while the substantial improvement in charging efficiency will increase station operating efficiency by more than 15%.

Ecosystem Empowerment: Is XCMG Automobile Taking the Lead?
In terms of terminal sales, XCMG Automobile was the sales champion of the new energy heavy truck industry for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. From January to July 2025, cumulative sales of XCMG new energy heavy trucks exceeded 16,000 units, continuing to rank first in the industry.
XCMG Automobile regards greening as an important direction of its transformation and development, takes the lead in promoting the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, and is an enterprise with "the earliest layout in the new energy heavy truck industry, the most complete product line of new energy heavy trucks, and the world's largest export orders for new energy heavy trucks." It has also initially built a full-chain, independently controllable ecosystem covering core component R&D, forward development of complete vehicles, adaptation of charging infrastructure, and a closed loop of operational data.

This cooperation between XCMG Automobile and Huawei not only realizes the implementation of ultra-fast charging technology but also reshapes the efficiency standards of the heavy truck industry. The two parties are jointly building an integrated "vehicle-charger-grid" ecosystem loop, enabling ultra-fast charging heavy trucks to move from "single-point breakthroughs" to "large-scale application." In the future, XCMG ultra-fast charging heavy trucks are expected to be widely applied in more scenarios, creating greater value for customers amid industry transformation.
