On August 22, the 220 kV power transmission and transformation project of the Julong Copper Mine Phase II expansion and renovation project, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co., Ltd., fully shifted into the stringing construction stage, laying a solid foundation for the project to be put into operation on schedule.

The project starts from the Lhasa 500 kV substation in Linzhou County, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and ends at the planned Julong Phase II 220 kV substation in Maizhokunggar County, Lhasa City, passing through three counties and districts: Linzhou County, Dagzê District, and Maizhokunggar County. The approximately 2×10 km line route has no access to public roads, making traffic conditions extremely inconvenient. The elevation along the project line ranges from about 3,600 to 5,526 meters, with Tower No. NB88, the highest-position tower, reaching an altitude of 5,526 meters, making it the world's highest-altitude power transmission and transformation project at present.

Conductor construction is one of the most technically complex key links in power transmission line construction. Once completed, the project will provide more ample and stable power support for the power grid of the Julong Copper Mine Phase II project, and is of great significance for promoting the high-quality economic and social development of the Tibet region.
