On August 17, the Changchun Metropolitan Area West Ring Expressway project constructed by the Pavement Engineering Branch of CCCC Xizhu made new progress, as the project successfully completed the paving of the asphalt intermediate course test section. The paved section is located on the right side of K3+668-K4+060.8, with a length of 392.8 meters and a width of 11.25 meters. The achievement of this key milestone laid a solid foundation for the steady advancement of the entire project.

To ensure the smooth paving of this asphalt intermediate course test section, the project team of the Pavement Engineering Branch of CCCC Xizhu carried out extensive preparatory work. From the meticulous design of the construction plan to the commissioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment, and further to the technical training and safety briefings for construction personnel, every step was strictly controlled in an effort to leave nothing to chance. During the paving process, the project team precisely controlled key indicators such as the temperature of the asphalt mixture, paving thickness and smoothness. The paver advanced at a constant speed, uniformly laying the high-temperature asphalt mixture on the road surface, after which the road roller followed closely to compact the paved asphalt, ensuring the compaction and stability of the pavement. The on-site construction personnel had clear divisions of labor and cooperated closely, and the entire construction process was intense and orderly, completed in one continuous operation.

The successful paving of this asphalt intermediate course test section is of significance in multiple respects. On the one hand, through the construction of the test section, a large amount of first-hand data was obtained, such as the optimal mix proportion of the asphalt mixture and the optimal process parameters for paving and rolling. These data will provide a scientific basis for subsequent large-scale asphalt pavement construction and help improve construction quality and efficiency. On the other hand, the smooth implementation of the test section also tested the project team's organizational coordination capability and construction technology level, accumulating valuable experience for subsequent construction. At the same time, it also marks an important step forward for the Changchun Metropolitan Area West Ring Expressway project in pavement construction, bringing it one step closer to the final completion and opening to traffic.
