Recently, the "Mirror of the Sky" sightseeing boat, designed and built by the Port and Waterway Company under Northwest Institute, successfully completed final assembly, sea trials, and certification in the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area of Qinghai Province, and was officially delivered to Qinghai Chaka Salt Lake Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Tourism Company"). The commissioning of the new vessel will bring visitors a more comfortable and unique sightseeing experience, adding another "traffic magnet" to the scenic area.

The "Mirror of the Sky" sightseeing boat has a passenger capacity of 40 and adopts a twin-engine (162 kW × 2) propulsion system, with a trial speed of up to 15 km/h. The vessel's design emphasizes the sightseeing experience: the first deck is equipped with large floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows and decorative portholes, while the second deck features an observation platform, ensuring visitors can enjoy the magnificent scenery of Chaka Salt Lake in 360 degrees. The hull livery uses white, red, and blue as the main color scheme, complementing the natural beauty of the salt lake and becoming a beautiful sight in the scenic area.

Since Northwest Institute built the first tourist boat, the "Hanhai Salt Boat," for the scenic area in 2010, and completed the Phase II tourist waterway and lakeside wharf construction in 2021, more than a decade of cooperation has witnessed the vigorous development of Chaka Salt Lake's tourism industry. The delivery of the "Mirror of the Sky" this time not only meets the scenic area's urgent need to expand tourist reception capacity, but also helps promote the Chaka Salt Lake cultural tourism brand and create a new calling card for water tourism.
