On August 8, construction officially began on the Haiyang West 1000 kV Switching Station, a new-build project of the Yanwei 1000 kV UHV AC power transmission and transformation project. The Yanwei 1000 kV UHV AC power transmission and transformation project is a key project in the national 14th Five-Year Plan for electric power development. It is of great significance for meeting the grid-connection demand of CNNC CX Nuclear Power, for transmitting and consuming the output of large-scale power source bases in the Yanwei area, and for ensuring a stable supply of green electricity. It will also further improve the structure of Shandong's UHV AC power grid and enhance system safety and stability.

Jiangxi Hydropower is undertaking the civil construction package for the Haiyang West 1000 kV Switching Station, a new-build project of the Yanwei 1000 kV UHV AC power transmission and transformation project. The construction scope covers core works including foundation treatment for the entire station, construction of buildings and steel structures, foundations for gantry structures and supports, laying of water supply, drainage and fire protection systems, and installation of outdoor lighting facilities. As a key node of the UHV power grid in the Yanwei area, the Haiyang West Switching Station's civil construction is the foundation for all subsequent electrical equipment installation and system commissioning, and is directly related to the overall quality of the project and the achievement of its commissioning goals. In particular, the 1000 kV GIS room is 600 meters long in total, with 4,390 tons of steel structure hoisting and 320 tons of high-precision embedded parts installation, making it the key point and difficulty of the entire project's building construction.
