Recently, the underground loop and public underground space (Phase II) project of the Mingzhu Bay Start-up Area Phase II (Hengli Island Tip) land development project in Guangzhou Nansha New Area (hereinafter referred to as the "Hengli Island Tip Underground Space Project"), in which Shanghai Qiangjin Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Qiangjin"), a subsidiary of China Chemical Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd., participates,is progressing steadily. The project as a whole covers three major types of underground facilities—underground loops, underground spaces, and utility tunnels—and is characterized by composite functions, co-constructed structures, interwoven spaces, and complex systems. By adopting a multi-level underground space development strategy, two efficient transportation systems—underground pedestrian and underground vehicular—have been established。

In the Financial Avenue section (west extension), the original design specified steel pipe supports with a horizontal spacing of 4 meters and a vertical spacing of 3 meters, which provided too limited excavation space for large machinery and affected earthwork excavation efficiency to some extent. The original steel supports in the west extension section were expected to total about 2,823 tons, while the use of prestressed assembled steel supports can save nearly 312 tons of steel material. Compared with traditional concrete supports, this creates multiple large spaces of approximately 19 meters × 20 meters, accommodating several excavators for simultaneous transfer and excavation operations, greatly improving earthwork excavation efficiency.

Under complex geological conditions, the soft soil layer at the bottom of the project foundation pit is deep and thick, posing risks of heave and deformation. An automatic monitoring system can reflect data in real time; combined with remote monitoring, it can effectively and precisely control foundation pit displacement, significantly reduce foundation pit deformation, and ensure safe construction and project quality. At present, all operations of the project are proceeding in an orderly manner.‍ ‍
