On the afternoon of July 29, the sound of excavators at work came from Qifengcha Village, the westernmost village in Liulimiao Town, Huairou District, Beijing. Firefighters and multiple pieces of rescue equipment, including modern wheeled excavators, worked together to open a temporary passage along the riverbed, finally allowing more than 140 villagers who had been trapped in this small mountain village for three days to evacuate safely.

Qifengcha Village administers five natural villages and is located in the mountainous area of Huairou District. After receiving a moderate rain warning at noon on the 26th, local village committee cadres responded actively. As the rain intensified, all villagers were moved to homes on higher ground.

However, under the relentless torrential rain and flooding, the village had no power supply and no mobile phone signal. After three days of being cut off, gas and stored grain had also run out, and drinking water was becoming scarce, leaving the situation extremely critical.

The disaster was a call to action. After receiving the rescue mission, modern excavators leveraged the advantages of wheeled excavators for fast and convenient relocation, dispatching quickly and cooperating actively. Early on the morning of the 29th, they arrived at the stranded village together with firefighters and other rescue equipment and began on-site work according to the evacuation route, opening a temporary evacuation passage on the riverbed. Under the direction and assistance of police officers, firefighters and village cadres, more than 140 stranded villagers evacuated safely along the temporary passage on the riverbed and escaped danger smoothly.
