On the morning of July 24, in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as huge blades and the nacelle were precisely docked at a height of over 140 meters, the world's largest 4,000-ton all-terrain crane developed by Zoomlion successfully completed the millimeter-precision installation of a hybrid-tower wind turbine generator set. The high-safety, high-efficiency, high-quality lifting show demonstrated the demeanor of this global lifting champion.

The Inner Mongolia Energy Ar Horqin 1-million-kilowatt wind power and storage base project is part of the country's third batch of large-scale wind power base construction projects in desert, Gobi and wasteland areas. The project adopts onshore wind turbine generator sets with a single-unit capacity of 10 MW and 140-meter-high hybrid tower technology, posing very high lifting difficulties and requirements.

It is understood that this lifting adopted integrated blade installation, that is, all blades are assembled into a rotor on the ground and then lifted and installed in one go by the crane, with extremely high requirements for precision and stability. The lifting weight this time reached 220 tons, and the lifting height was 140 meters, equivalent to more than 40 stories high, with the rotor installation akin to "threading a needle in the sky." As the wheeled crane with the world's largest tonnage, strongest lifting capacity and highest technical content, Zoomlion's 4,000-ton all-terrain crane successfully completed this lifting and won high recognition from the construction party with a perfect high-altitude lifting show.

Luo Xianzhi, Director of the Global R&D Center of Zoomlion's Engineering Crane Branch, introduced: "The higher the wind turbine, the geometric escalation of the challenge to lifting precision. We equipped the 4,000-ton crane with a micro-motion control system, achieving millimeter-level control precision in the rotor alignment stage and enabling 'successful positioning in one go,' with efficiency more than 3 times higher than traditional equipment. This not only greatly improves construction efficiency but also greatly reduces construction risks."
After the lifting was completed, the operator said frankly: "As an operator of Zoomlion's 4,000-ton all-terrain crane, I know this product's quality and performance well, so such a good performance is quite normal. Actually, what I like most is its relocation capability. Whether on longitudinal slopes, transverse slopes, or bumpy gravel roads, it can achieve highly mobile, all-terrain relocation. That's so convenient!"

It is understood that the 4,000-ton all-terrain crane is an innovative product with which Zoomlion, after setting world records twice with 2,000-ton and 2,400-ton models, continued to surpass itself and set a world record for the third time, creating multiple industry firsts, with overall technology and product indicators reaching the internationally leading level. It is not only the only 4,000-ton all-terrain crane in the industry that meets highway driving regulations and standards, but also the only wheeled crane in the industry that can meet the overall lifting of 190-meter-height and 16 MW wind turbines, providing solid and reliable support for the development of China's wind power construction.

At present, the large-scale development of wind power is becoming a trend, and the lifting construction of super-large and super-high wind turbines faces even stricter challenges, requiring lifting equipment with higher quality and stronger performance. Zoomlion's 4,000-ton all-terrain crane has reshaped the industry ceiling in terms of lifting performance, driving and relocation, and construction operations, and is playing an important role in major wind power projects with its powerful strength.
