From July 21 to 27, Sun Ximin, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, led a Shandong Provincial Government delegation on a visit to Peru and Chile to promote deeper and more substantive exchanges and cooperation between Shandong Province and Latin American countries. Man Shengang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Shandong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, accompanied the delegation on the visit.

The delegation held business events including the China (Shandong)–Peru Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting and the China (Shandong)–Chile Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting, signed economic and trade cooperation projects, and conducted extensive engagement with government departments, major business associations and chambers of commerce, and business figures of the two countries, promoting deeper multi-field practical cooperation between the province and the two countries and helping the province build a new high ground for high-level opening-up. Sun Ximin affirmed the development of the Latin American business of provincial state-owned enterprises and Shandong Heavy Industry Group and set higher requirements for further deepening economic and trade cooperation.

On July 22, at the China (Shandong)–Peru Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting, Weichai signed a business cooperation agreement with the Modasa Group, and Sinotruk (Peru) Co., Ltd. was inaugurated.

On July 23, the delegation visited the bus depot of Chile's Cabal Group and inspected the pure electric buses delivered by Zhongtong to the customer. The delegation traveled to Chile's Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications for talks, gaining a detailed understanding of the overall situation and development plans of Chile's public transport system and promoting further deepening of cooperation between the two sides. After the meeting, Zhongtong Bus held a launch event for its first batch of female drivers in Chile, handing bus key models symbolizing the start of a career to two trainees of the "Female Driver Program." Leveraging its leading core technology accumulation and customized development capabilities, Zhongtong Bus successfully won a major bid this year for 895 new energy buses in Chile.

On July 24, Man Shengang chaired a special scheduling meeting on Shandong Heavy Industry's Latin American market, hearing reports on the Latin American business development of its subsidiaries. Man Shengang pointed out that Shandong Heavy Industry has continued to optimize its market layout and build its brand matrix; in the first half of this year, its export revenue in the Latin American market grew by 40% year on year, high-end products achieved rapid breakthroughs, and brand influence improved significantly. Latin America is an important strategic market for Shandong Heavy Industry's internationalization and has huge room for future growth. It is necessary to adhere to high-end leadership, step up market development, accelerate local layout, give play to the group's product portfolio and business synergy advantages, promote rapid and sustainable growth of the Latin American business, actively integrate into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and demonstrate the good reputation of Chinese manufacturing and quality Shandong products.
