On July 26, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 200 MW/800 MWh independent step-up energy storage power station project in Yining, Xinjiang, was held in the Ili River Valley, marking that the project has entered a new stage of comprehensive advancement and full-scale construction.

The project mainly consists of energy storage batteries, power conversion systems (PCS), and step-up transformers. The converters can achieve bidirectional conversion of electrical energy. It is composed of 160 battery containers each configured with 5 MWh of capacity, and the energy storage conversion and step-up system consists of 40 conversion and step-up containers. After the project is completed, it will transmit approximately 292 million kWh of electricity annually, greatly enhancing the stability, safety, and flexibility of power grid operation. It is of great significance for optimizing the regional energy structure, ensuring the security of power supply, and promoting green and low-carbon development. At the same time, the completion of the project will effectively stimulate local investment, create employment opportunities, drive the coordinated development of related industries, and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of Yining City.

The Third Bureau of Hydropower will build a solid safety defense line with high standards, forge a quality project with strict requirements, and ensure efficient contract performance by strengthening organization. Taking this groundbreaking as a new starting point, it will deeply cultivate the fertile land of the northwest, and with wisdom and sweat, build an energy monument shining with innovation and green light on this promising land, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule, with high quality and efficiency, and contributing solid Third Bureau strength to helping Xinjiang build a nationally important new energy base, safeguard national energy security, and write the Xinjiang chapter of Chinese-style modernization.
