On July 16 local time, the Indonesia Lumut Balai Phase II Geothermal Power Station Project, undertaken by PowerChina's Shandong Electric Power Construction No. 3 Company under an EPC general contracting arrangement, officially received the Completion Certificate issued by the owner. The issuance of this certificate marks the project's successful completion of the construction phase and its full transition into the operational performance testing and indicator verification stage.

This project is the first flash-steam geothermal power station EPC project executed by a Chinese enterprise anywhere in the world. It is located in Muara Enim Regency, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia, with an installed capacity of 55 MW. Since construction began, the project team has completed the full chain of tasks—design, procurement, construction, and commissioning—to high quality standards, achieving safe and stable unit operation, and has previously met key milestone targets on schedule, including SLO, COD, and the 15-day reliability run.

The Indonesia Lumut Balai Phase II Geothermal Power Station Project is not only an important project for the Indonesian government in achieving its goal of "adding 5.2 GW of geothermal power generation capacity by 2034 and raising the share of renewable energy to 76% of new power generation capacity," but also a key demonstration project of China-Indonesia energy cooperation with significant strategic importance. The completion of this project provides solid support for alleviating local power supply pressure, advancing the green energy transition, and promoting regional economic and social development, while also contributing "Chinese wisdom" and "Chinese strength" to Indonesia's efforts to achieve its sustainable development strategic goals.
