On the afternoon of July 15 local time, SEPCOIII, a subsidiary of PowerChina, and Marubeni Corporation officially signed the EPC contract for the Saudi Round 4 YAN Wind Power Project in Japan, marking another milestone breakthrough in the process of deepening strategic cooperation between the two parties and further demonstrating the professional strength of Chinese enterprises in the global new energy sector.
With a unit capacity of 700 MW, the Saudi Round 4 YAN Wind Power Project is located in Medina Province, Saudi Arabia, and represents another breakthrough achievement in green energy secured by the company in the Saudi market. The implementation of this project will provide strong support for Saudi Arabia's strategic goal of achieving approximately 50% renewable energy share by 2030, and is of great strategic significance for helping Saudi Arabia improve the economic benefits of power generation and promoting the optimization of its energy structure.
This project is the third large-scale wind power project undertaken by SEPCOIII in Saudi Arabia, following the 600 MW Al-Ghat Wind Power EPC Project and the 500 MW Al-Wind Al-Shamal Wind Power EPC Project. It is an important practice of the company in firmly upholding the concept of "prioritizing high-quality overseas development" and unswervingly advancing the high-quality "going global" strategy, and is also a testament to the strength of PowerChina in deeply cultivating the Middle East new energy market. In the future, SEPCOIII will use this project as a link to continue deepening energy cooperation with Middle Eastern countries, further enhance its international core competitiveness, and inject powerful momentum into China-Saudi Arabia energy cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
