On July 18, the Yulin plant of Yuchai MTU Power Co., Ltd. ("Yuchai MTU"), a joint venture between Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Yuchai, marked a significant milestone as the mtu S4000 S83 engine officially rolled off the production line. It will leverage localized manufacturing advantages to inject new momentum into the oil and gas industry.

Since the joint venture was established in 2017, Yuchai MTU has gradually built a complete system covering the production and service of high-end power equipment. Its products have been highly recognized by customers in the high-end power generation market, with production and sales reaching new highs year after year. On July 31, 2024, Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Yuchai signed a cooperation agreement for the Phase II project of Yuchai MTU. The rollout of the mtu S4000 S83 engine is one of the important achievements of the Phase II project, marking the product's official entry into localized manufacturing and providing a more competitive solution for the Chinese market.

The mtu S4000 S83 engine is a power product specifically launched for the oil and gas sector. It fully takes into account the special operating conditions of oil and gas field operations and can meet oil and gas companies' dual needs for equipment reliability and service timeliness, thereby getting closer to customers and better helping them succeed.

Wu Qiwei, President of Yuchai Co., Ltd., said that with the mtu S2000 and mtu S4000 S83 engines rolling off the line successively this year, the joint venture's product portfolio is becoming increasingly rich and its applications increasingly broad. This also proves the great success of the cooperation between Yuchai and Rolls-Royce Power Systems. He believes that Yuchai MTU's products in the oil and gas market will win customer recognition just as they have in the power generation sector, continuously achieving new breakthroughs.
