Recently, the "President 100", a 100% biofuel (B100)-powered transport vessel supported by core power provided by Weichai under Shandong Heavy Industry, was officially launched in Singapore. This marks an important milestone in the B100 trial project jointly carried out by Weichai and partners including the China Classification Society (CCS) Singapore Branch, the Nanyang Technological University Maritime Energy and Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence (MESD), and Pinnacle Marine, and signals the official start of the continuous real-vessel operation verification phase for B100.

The vessel was built by Singapore-based shipyard Pinnacle Marine. With an overall length of 16 meters, it is equipped with two Weichai WP13C450-18BF marine main engines and two CCFJ20J-W5BF marine generator sets. The vessel will conduct a 1,000-hour continuous real-vessel operation test in Singapore's port waters, aimed at evaluating the performance, emission characteristics, and reliability data of B100 biodiesel under long-term operating conditions.

B100 biofuel is one of the solutions for the shipping industry to move toward net-zero emissions. Weichai's B100 pure biofuel marine power, by optimizing combustion efficiency and reducing emissions, not only helps improve vessels' environmental indicators but also provides global shipping companies with a new pathway for green transformation.

The implementation of this project will provide data support for formulating standards for B100 bunkering, storage, and operation on vessels, and will also become an important demonstration project for Singapore's shipping industry as it advances toward net-zero emissions.
