On May 8, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of China Railway Equipment (CREG) and the upcoming ninth China Brand Day, the "Breaking Boundaries · Reaching Deep" — 2025 Deep Earth Space Technology Development Academic Exchange Conference, themed "Continuously and Thoroughly Practicing the 'Three Transformations' and Unswervingly Advancing High-Quality Development," was successfully held in the shield machine assembly workshop of China Railway Equipment.

Leader Remarks

In his speech, Wei Xiaowei noted that Henan, as an important national base for the equipment manufacturing industry, has continued to focus on high-end equipment, smart mines, green and low-carbon fields, and other areas, cultivating a group of innovation pioneers represented by China Railway Equipment, overcoming numerous key core technical challenges, and helping China Railway Equipment retain its position as the global champion in tunnel boring machine sales, demonstrating Henan manufacturing's sense of mission and responsibility in serving the national strategy. In the future, Henan will always be a firm supporter of scientific and technological innovation, a full-process service provider for industrial upgrading, and an active promoter of global cooperation, providing Chinese solutions for deep earth governance in China and around the world, and making the deep earth a new frontier for sustainable human development.

In his speech, Zhuang Jianqiu noted that Zhengzhou, as a national central city and the core engine of high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, has always adhered to pursuing the "new" and advancing toward the "deep," taking the high-quality development of manufacturing, including underground space equipment, as its main direction. In the future, it will join hands with chain-leading enterprises such as China Railway Equipment to jointly pursue new cooperation in underground space development and create a new future for deep earth resource utilization.

In his speech, Ge Weiming noted that in recent years China Railway Equipment has focused on the "second curve" markets such as mining and energy, and has developed a series of complete sets of TBMs and large-scale drill-and-blast equipment suitable for coal mines and non-coal mines. Through technological innovation and equipment upgrading, it has achieved green and intelligent transformation, helping to develop low-carbon equipment technologies and explore the comprehensive utilization of deep earth space.

Su Zimeng noted that the China Construction Machinery Association, relying on the national support service system, strengthens industry-finance cooperation, supports the development of industrial clusters led by core products such as tunnel boring machines, and helps them participate in international competition. As a new force in construction machinery innovation, China Railway Equipment has made new and greater contributions to the development of the industry.

Hou Chenglu, Director of the International First-Class Demonstration Mine Promotion Center of Shandong Gold Group and Secretary of the Party Committee and Mine Manager of the Sanshandao Gold Mine, noted in his speech that the "Gold No. 1," which China Railway Equipment is applying to Shandong Gold Group's Sanshandao Gold Mine project, is about to embark on a journey of deep exploration. The successful implementation of the project has not been easy, and he expressed the hope that everyone will work together to safeguard the smooth operation and development of the project and set a new benchmark for deep exploration in China's mines.

In his address, Lin Junke stated that the development of China Railway Equipment is a microcosm of the development of the underground engineering equipment industry. We will always keep in mind the "top priorities of the nation," fulfill the responsibility and commitment of state-owned enterprises to serve major national strategic deployments and boost economic growth, and as always provide everyone with high-quality products and services.

On-site verification of tunneling performance of deep earth space products

Via live video link, the conference connected to the kilometer-deep shaft TBM construction sites of the Sanshandao Gold Mine in Laizhou, Shandong, and Ruihai Mining, and listened to a work report from China Railway Equipment on the tunneling performance of deep-shaft mining TBMs.

It is reported that the deep-shaft mining TBMs "Haiyue No. 1," "Haiyue No. 2," and "Gold No. 1," developed by China Railway Equipment, are steadily tunneling in the kilometer-deep underground mines of the Sanshandao Gold Mine and Ruihai Mining in Laizhou, Shandong. All three machines are operating smoothly with reliable performance verification, filling the gap in China's TBM mining engineering technology for deep-buried metal mines. This plays an important role in promoting the high-quality development of China's ultra-deep-buried gold mining industry and is a vivid practice of "Intelligent Manufacturing of China" in the deep earth development strategy, demonstrating the hard-core strength of China's equipment manufacturing industry in advancing toward the deep earth.
