On April 28, Danish Ambassador to China Michael Starbæk Christensen and a business delegation, accompanied by Lin Haibin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, visited Shandong Heavy Industry Group for business exchanges. Wang Zhijian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the discussion and exchange.

Michael Starbæk Christensen expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by the Foreign Affairs Office of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Shandong Heavy Industry, and spoke highly of Shandong Heavy Industry's development achievements. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and China. Denmark attaches great importance to the Chinese market, and many Danish companies, upholding the philosophy of "in China, for China," have been rooted in China for a long time and have benefited from the dividends of China's four decades of rapid development. Denmark and China share a common aspiration and development direction for economy and trade, and he hopes to enhance friendship and deepen mutual trust with China through trade and diplomacy. Denmark can provide professional and innovative integrated solutions in energy transition; Danish companies are highly compatible and complementary with Shandong Heavy Industry in terms of industrial chains, and he hopes to establish a mutually beneficial partnership with Shandong Heavy Industry, deepen win-win cooperation across industrial chains, and jointly lead the global energy transition.

Wang Zhijian extended a warm welcome to Michael Starbæk Christensen and his delegation on their first visit to Shandong Heavy Industry and introduced the company's basic information. He said that Shandong Heavy Industry is a leading and world-class comprehensive high-end equipment multinational group in China, with six major business segments including power systems and commercial vehicles. Over the years, Shandong Heavy Industry has established a global science and technology innovation center in Europe, maintained close cooperation with European companies in products and technology, and also has a solid foundation for cooperation with the companies of the Danish business delegation. Europe is also an important strategic market for Shandong Heavy Industry, and its brands such as Zhongtong Bus enjoy a good reputation in Denmark. The rapid development of China's new energy industry has brought broad market opportunities. Shandong Heavy Industry and Danish companies have enormous room for cooperation in new energy transition and development and in advancing the implementation of the "dual carbon" strategy, and he hopes that the two sides will strengthen technical exchanges and cooperation through forms such as technology open days, yield fruitful cooperation results, and establish a long-term cooperative relationship.

At the symposium, the Danish business delegation introduced their companies' business situations respectively, and the two sides conducted friendly communication on matters related to intended areas of cooperation.
