On April 24, the Huayuan River component of the Nanjing Longtan New Municipal Project was successfully completed. As a key project in the area's river channel improvement, the Huayuan River will significantly enhance the region's water resource regulation and storage capacity, building a solid flood-season safety barrier for Longtan New Town.

The Huayuan River runs from Dongsheng Road in the south to Longnan Avenue in the north, with a total length of 724.56 meters. The project adopts a composite revetment structure of "precast pile retaining wall + ecological slope." The top of the right-bank revetment connects flush with Huayuan Road to ensure road safety, while the left-bank revetment interfaces with planned plots, reserving space for future development. During construction, the project department introduced ecological materials such as permeable concrete and grass-planting bricks, and optimized the design in line with the river's alignment. This not only strengthens the revetment's erosion resistance but also enables slow drainage and purification of rainwater through natural infiltration.

Upon completion of the Huayuan River, the long-standing waterlogging problem in the area has been thoroughly resolved. It not only improves the flood control and drainage framework but also clears obstacles for the development of the planned plots on the right bank. As an important vehicle for Nanjing's promotion of "Ning-Zhen-Yang" urban integration, Longtan New Town is using infrastructure projects such as the Huayuan River as a lever to accelerate the creation of an ecological pattern featuring "water safety, clear water, and flowing water," injecting green momentum into the region's high-quality development.
