Wherever there is infrastructure construction, there is construction machinery. Facing a vast construction machinery industry market, many Chinese enterprises began their global layout early, participating in international competition with higher-quality products.

Since the United States imposed additional tariffs in 2018, the share of China's construction machinery exports to the United States has fallen from 12.74% in 2018 to 7.7% in 2024. At the same time, overall export value grew from US$23.582 billion in 2018 to US$52.859 billion in 2024. These two curves moving in opposite directions represent the steady global layout of Chinese construction machinery enterprises over the past few years.

The latest data from the China Construction Machinery Association show that from January to March this year, domestic sales of excavators nationwide totaled 36,562 units, up 38.3% year on year, mainly benefiting from the accelerated implementation of infrastructure projects such as farmland water conservancy and urban renewal. Exports reached 24,810 units, up 5.49% year on year, as the industry continues to explore vast markets.

Su Zimeng, president of the China Construction Machinery Association, said that in recent years, China's construction machinery industry has gained widespread recognition in global services and has achieved both brand and revenue gains. According to last year's statistics, export profits of key member enterprises contacted by the association grew by more than 10%, and product exports across the industry have maintained double-digit growth for four consecutive years.
