On the evening of March 18 local time, witnessed jointly by the Egyptian national grid, the owner, the supervisor, and the PowerChina Huadong Engineering project team, the back-feed energization of the 220 kV booster station of PowerChina's 500 MW Gulf of Suez wind power project in Egypt was successfully completed, marking the project's formal entry into the grid-connection commissioning stage and laying a solid foundation for subsequent full commercial operation.

In preparing for the major milestone of back-feed energization, the project execution team faced multiple challenges, including tight construction resources for the booster station and difficulties in equipment quality control. In the face of these difficulties, the project execution team promptly adjusted its strategy, implemented upgraded management of the booster station contractor, optimized the allocation of construction resources, and dynamically augmented construction manpower to meet milestone control requirements. The project execution team strengthened commissioning capabilities by deploying additional commissioning engineers and management personnel, giving priority to resolving bottleneck issues in key tasks. The team also fully respected local culture and customs, reasonably arranging construction hours during Ramadan to ensure the steady progress of the project. With the successful completion of the major back-feed energization milestone, the project has formally entered the grid-connection commissioning stage, and the execution team will continue to go all out to ensure the project is delivered on schedule and with high quality.

The Gulf of Suez wind power project in Egypt is located along the Red Sea coast, with a total installed capacity of 500 MW. Once completed, it will become one of the largest wind power projects in the region. PowerChina is the EPC general contractor for the project, with scope of work mainly covering the procurement and transportation of wind turbines, wind turbine foundations, lifting platforms, collector lines, internal roads, met masts, and the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the 33/220 kV booster station, as well as access road construction. Since commencement, the PowerChina project execution team has risen to the challenges, efficiently advancing construction progress and ensuring the project proceeds in an orderly manner as planned. Going forward, the PowerChina project team will continue to uphold the spirit of "Responsibility, Efficiency, Excellence," and is committed to providing high-quality clean energy solutions for Egypt's green and sustainable economic and social development.

"The tide is flat, the two banks are broad; the wind is right, a single sail hangs high." Along the vast shores of the Red Sea, the blueprint for clean energy is unfolding with the wind, and PowerChina's Gulf of Suez wind power project in Egypt is setting sail, opening a new chapter in the development of Egypt's new energy market.
