Recently, a number of transportation projects in Zhejiang, including the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, Wenzhou North Station, the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway, and the Taizhou Luqiao Airport, have made new progress.

The main line of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway is 76.4 kilometers long, starting from Ningbo East Station in the west and extending eastward to Jintang Island, Cezi Island, and Zhoushan Main Island in Zhoushan City. The Jintang Subsea Tunnel is a controlling project of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway. It is located beneath the Jintang Waterway between Ningbo and Zhoushan in the East China Sea, starting from Beilun District of Ningbo City in the west and ending at Jintang Town of Zhoushan City in the east, with a total length of 16.18 kilometers. Among them, the section constructed by the bidirectional shield method is 11.21 kilometers long, making it the world's longest subsea high-speed railway tunnel. At present, the "Yongzhou" shield machine on the Ningbo side has excavated more than 1,400 meters, and the "Dinghai" shield machine has excavated more than 2,000 meters, completing a quarter of the excavation task of the Jintang Subsea Tunnel. The entire shield tunneling work is scheduled to be completed in 2027, and the entire Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway will strive to be completed and opened to traffic before the end of October 2028.
As a supporting project of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway, the Wenzhou North Station interchange project is an important component of the Wenzhou North Station transportation hub. Recently, ramps E, F, and G were successfully opened to traffic, marking the official completion of the Wenzhou North Station interchange project. The Wenzhou North Station interchange project is located between the Wenzhou North mainline toll station and the Sanjiang interchange on the Zhuyong Expressway extension line. Its main line is about 1.56 kilometers long, the newly built ramps have a total length of 2.98 kilometers, and the connecting line is 0.56 kilometers long, with a total investment of 520 million yuan.
The first pier body of the Jiaxing Grand Bridge in Section VII before the station of the newly built Nantong-Ningbo High-Speed Railway (Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo) project was successfully poured recently, marking that the construction of the bridge's substructure has entered a new stage. The Jiaxing Grand Bridge is about 12.6 kilometers long and is a controlling project of the entire line. It has a total of 877 piers and columns, of which 856 are located within Jiashan. The Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-Speed Railway is an important component of the coastal railway passenger transport corridor, which is part of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" main framework of the national high-speed railway network. It has five stations in Zhejiang Province, including Jiashan North, Jiaxing South, Haiyan, Cixi, and Zhuangqiao.
The Taizhou Luqiao Airport access road (Phase II) project is divided into north and south sections. The north section is mainly at ground level, while the south section is mainly elevated and bridge structures. At present, the 1.8-kilometer north section has passed completion acceptance and has been opened to traffic; for the 1.8-kilometer south section, soft foundation treatment has been 100% completed, the substructure of medium and small bridges has been 80% completed, subgrade filling has been 70% completed, and the substructure of the Xiaowufen Viaduct has been 50% completed. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will connect with Dongfang Avenue, greatly shortening the travel time from northbound roads to Luqiao Airport, and is of great significance for improving the road network construction in the airport area and building an efficient comprehensive transportation system for the airport.
