At around 9 a.m. on January 25, as the last pile foundation was successfully poured,the main pier pile foundation construction of the two cable-stayed bridges spanning the Zhangjiagang River and the Wangyu River involved in the Changshu section of the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway was successfully completedmarking that the project's cable-stayed bridge works have achieved important phased results.
The two cable-stayed bridges in the Changshu section of the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway
are both located in Section 5 of the pre-station works undertaken by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group
and are part of the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railwaykey and difficult works along the entire line.
The cable-stayed bridge spanning the Zhangjiagang River is a single-tower cable-stayed bridge with a total length of418.1meters and spans of(43+2*165+43)meters. The bridge tower is a reinforced concrete structure. The main pier foundation adopts36bored piles with a diameter of2meters, a pile spacing of5meters, and a pile length of125meters. The cable-stayed bridge spanning the Wangyu River is a double-tower, double-cable-plane hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge with a total length of679.5meters and spans of(60+105+348+105+60)meters. The bridge tower is a reinforced concrete structure, and the cable towers adopt a diamond-shaped bridge tower. Each main pier foundation adopts26bored piles of2.5meters, with a pile spacing of6.25meters and a maximum pile length of114meters.
Since the construction of the two cable-stayed bridges began, the Municipal Transport Bureau has made every effort to serve the project construction, completed the clearing of ground attachments in advance, promptly coordinated with various pipeline units to complete scheme approval, relocation and implementation, and established a communication and coordination liaison mechanism with the construction unit, providing forward-looking services and full cooperation to ensure the smooth completion of the main pier pile foundation construction of the cable-stayed bridges, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.
After the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will achieve interconnection with the already operational Shanghai-Nantong Railway, the Shanghai-Nanjing Riverside High-Speed Railway, the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou Railway, and will effectively remedy the current shortage of north-south longitudinal high-speed railway supply in the Yangtze River Delta region, further improve the road network structure of the Yangtze River Delta region, and enhance travel efficiency for people along the line, which is of great significance for promoting high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
