Recently, Sinohydro Bureau 4 Co., Ltd. won the bid for Section 4 of the Huangpu River Mid-Upper Reaches Levee Flood Control Capacity Improvement Project (Phase II).

The Huangpu River Mid-Upper Reaches Levee Flood Control Capacity Improvement Project is implemented in two phases in accordance with the principle of "one-time planning, phased implementation." Phase I is located within Songjiang District, starting from Sanjiaodu in the west and ending at Qianbujing/Nü'erjing in the east; Phase II is located within Minhang District, Fengxian District, Xuhui District, and Pudong New Area, starting from Nü'erjing/Qianbujing in the west and ending at Xupu Bridge in the east, involving a levee length of approximately 109 kilometers. 

The project awarded in this bid is Section 4 of the Huangpu River Mid-Upper Reaches Levee Flood Control Capacity Improvement Project (Phase II), located within Fengxian District. The main construction content includes: levee works for raising and reinforcing 7.266 kilometers of levee (levee reconstruction, installation of ancillary facilities for levee facilities, and construction of ancillary buildings for levee facilities); flood control room works, hydrological station works, road works, facility restoration, and other ancillary projects.

On the basis of improving the flood control capacity of the levees in the mid-upper reaches of the Huangpu River, this project benchmarks the flood control layouts of important coastal cities at home and abroad, coordinates the relationships between the basin and the region and between the near term and the long term, and innovatively proposes a combined resilient flood control system layout of "estuary tidal barriers + levees," achieving a 100-year return period flood control standard for the upper reaches and a 1,000-year return period tidal defense standard for the mid-lower reaches; it adopts resilient levee structures and advances the improvement of flood control capacity with high quality under the concept of systematic governance, striving to build resilient levees of safety. At the same time, this project is of great significance for effectively safeguarding the lives and property of urban residents.
