On February 7 local time, the No. 3 concrete batching system of the Kenya Mwache Multipurpose Dam Project successfully completed a roller-compacted concrete mixing trial. All technical indicators met the standards for roller-compacted concrete (RCC) construction, marking the official commissioning of the project's RCC batching system.

The Mwache Dam Project has a designed maximum dam height of 84 meters and a total concrete volume of 610,000 cubic meters. Once the No. 3 concrete batching system is put into operation, it can ensure the concrete production intensity required by the project (a maximum monthly intensity of 56,000 cubic meters) and temperature control requirements (concrete placement temperature not exceeding 26°C).

The smooth commissioning of the No. 3 concrete batching system will provide solid and reliable concrete production support for subsequent main dam construction and plays a vital role in ensuring the progress and quality of main dam construction. All project members will take the successful commissioning of this batching system as a new starting point, work with full vigor, and go all out to ensure the achievement of various key task objectives in the later stage of the project.

The Mwache Multipurpose Dam Project is a fully World Bank-financed project and one of the key projects under the Kenyan government's Vision 2030. After completion, the project will provide 186,000 cubic meters per day of domestic water to Mombasa, Kwale and other areas, effectively solving problems such as local domestic and livestock water supply, difficulties in agricultural irrigation, and climate improvement, with significant social and economic benefits.
