During the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, the construction site of the Shengjin Lake Pumping Station project, a key water conservancy project in Chizhou City, remained bustling. Engineering vehicles shuttled back and forth, construction machinery operated in an orderly manner, and builders methodically busied themselves with their tasks, constantly refreshing the project's 'progress bar'.

'In winter, irrigation and flood control tasks for water conservancy projects decrease, and the continuous dry season creates favorable conditions for construction,' said Zhou Gang, head of the construction unit, at the site. 'This Spring Festival, more than 100 staff from our construction project department chose to stay local and stick to their posts, determined to keep the Shengjin Lake Pumping Station project construction uninterrupted and strive for a good start in the new year.'

According to the project manager, the Shengjin Lake Pumping Station completed the pouring of the main station's base slab at the end of December 2024. The current intensive construction is focused on advancing the main structure of the flood control gate and the pumping station. The goal is to complete the flood control gate construction and the restoration of the river embankments on both banks by the end of April 2025, making full preparations for safe flood season this year.

It is reported that to achieve high-standard and efficient project construction and ensure safe and stable construction during the Spring Festival, the project legal person of the Shengjin Lake Pumping Station deployed early, advanced quickly, and strengthened guarantees. They actively communicated with all participating units, reserved materials for living and construction in advance, scientifically and reasonably arranged the construction plan, strictly implemented the duty system, strengthened supervision of key links and parts such as temporary power facilities, mechanical equipment, and on-site protection at the construction site, and implemented various safety control measures to fully ensure orderly construction during the Spring Festival.

It is learned that the Shengjin Lake Pumping Station project has a total investment of 366 million yuan. It is built on the west side of the new Huangpen Gate site and is equipped with 5 submersible tubular pumps, with a total installed capacity of 5,300 kilowatts, a designed drainage flow of 100 cubic meters per second, and a designed water diversion flow of 20 cubic meters per second. It is a large (2) type pumping station. After completion, the project will comprehensively enhance the flood control and safety and ecological water supply guarantee capabilities of the Shengjin Lake basin, providing strong support and guarantee for the economic and social development of the basin.

According to relevant personnel from the Chizhou Municipal Water Resources Bureau, during the Spring Festival, the city further strengthened supervision and services at water conservancy project sites to ensure construction safety and project quality. At the same time, it actively coordinated to solve problems and difficulties encountered during construction, and worked hard to ensure the smooth progress of annual goals and strive to achieve a 'good start' in water conservancy investment in the first quarter.

It is reported that in recent years, Chizhou City has made every effort to expand effective investment in water conservancy and accelerate the high-quality development of modern water networks. In 2024, Chizhou City implemented 153 water conservancy projects with a total investment of 5.4 billion yuan, completed water conservancy construction investment of 2.833 billion yuan, an increase of 28.8% over the same period last year, setting a record high. Water conservancy project construction has maximally played a role in stabilizing investment, benefiting people's livelihood, and promoting development.
