On January 16, the lower reservoir dam of the Inner Mongolia Wuhai Pumped Storage Power Station project was successfully filled to the top, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the asphalt face slab.

The lower reservoir dam of the Wuhai Pumped Storage Power Station is an asphalt concrete face rockfill dam, with a dam crest elevation of 1,228 meters, a maximum dam height of 71 meters for the main dam, and a crest length of 289 meters; the secondary dam has a maximum height of 40 meters and a crest length of 91 meters. Since the start of the project, the project department has prioritized safety, focused on quality, and driven progress, carefully organizing resources and optimizing construction techniques. Intelligent rolling technology was applied during the filling and compaction process, effectively avoiding under-rolling and over-rolling and greatly improving construction quality and filling efficiency.

It is reported that the Wuhai Pumped Storage Power Station is the second pumped storage power station built in the Western Inner Mongolia region. The station is planned to have an installed capacity of 1,200 megawatts. Once completed, it will greatly enhance the peak-shaving capacity of the Western Inner Mongolia power grid and is of great significance for promoting energy structure adjustment in Western Inner Mongolia, boosting local economic development, and improving the ecological environment.
