From November 18 to 21, 2024, the Zhejiang (Saudi Arabia) International Engineering Exhibition was held at the Dhahran International Exhibition in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
This edition of the exhibition was held concurrently in the same venue as the highly influential local Saudi (Dammam) Building Materials and Interior Decoration Exhibition CIDEX. It was hosted by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province and organized by the Zhejiang International Contractors Association and Hangzhou Boheng Business Exhibition Co., Ltd.
Zhejiang Province exhibited in the form of a unified image display area, organizing a total of 10 enterprises and 20 participants, with an exhibition area of 105 square meters. Companies such as Zhejiang Construction International Engineering (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Wanma Co., Ltd., and Yujie Group Co., Ltd. participated.
During the four-day exhibition, Zhejiang enterprises received more than 920 professional buyers from 12 countries and regions, held discussions on relevant engineering projects and cooperation, and reached an intended transaction value of USD 5.7 million, achieving good results.
In recent years, in order to realize its economic diversification development strategy, Saudi Arabia has successively launched development plans in various fields, including "Vision 2030," the "2020 National Transformation Program," the "National Reform and Transformation Five-Year Plan," the "Saudi National Renewable Energy Target Plan," the "National Industrial and Logistics Development Plan," and the "Saudi Public Investment Fund Five-Year Investment Plan," continuously promoting the sustained prosperity and development of Saudi Arabia's construction industry and providing huge opportunities for China-Saudi cooperation and for Zhejiang enterprises to benefit from Saudi policy dividends.
According to statistics, in 2023, the newly signed contract value of Zhejiang Province's overseas contracted projects reached USD 4.92 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%; the cumulative completed turnover was USD 6.94 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%, and remarkable new achievements were made in the field of overseas engineering contracting. Since the beginning of this year, the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province has organized three overseas self-hosted exhibitions in the field of foreign economic cooperation in Mexico, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia, with the theme of "Green Zhejiang, Smart World," to expand the scale, efficiency, and influence of Zhejiang's international engineering, showcase typical cases and service innovation achievements of Zhejiang Province's international engineering.
