On November 22 local time, the handover and launch meeting for the Modern Laterite Road Project of the Senegal Rice Road, constructed by Sinohydro Bureau 15, was held on the banks of the Senegal River, marking the official commencement of the project.

The Modern Laterite Road Project of the Senegal Rice Road is located on the south side of the Senegal River, northeast of Saint-Louis, Senegal, with its starting point 28 kilometers from Saint-Louis and 270 kilometers from the capital, Dakar. The project consists of five roads, with a subgrade width of 10.2 meters and a two-layer road structure, totaling 121 kilometers. The client is the Senegalese Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Territorial Development (MITTD), and the funding source is the African Development Bank (BAD). The total construction period is 24 months, with a warranty period of 12 months.

Since the signing of the project contract, the project team has mobilized quickly, closely focusing on design, procurement, and construction tasks with scientific planning and rigorous deployment, while maintaining efficient communication with the client to ensure the orderly progress of all preparatory work. Once completed, the project will not only facilitate rice transport in local agricultural areas but also strengthen the local transportation network, injecting new vitality into the economic and social development of the regions along the route.

Next, Sinohydro Bureau 15 will rationally arrange construction tasks and schedule plans, go all out to deliver high-quality performance, and promote the early completion and commissioning of the project, working together with the Senegalese side to build it into a demonstration project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
