On the morning of November 15 local time, the "Lighting Up Green Zambia" Multi-Scenario Smart PV and Energy Storage Forum, jointly hosted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Huawei), and LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as LONGi), was successfully held in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Peter Mumba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Zambia, Albert Halwampa, Director General of the Zambia Development Agency, and the relevant responsible person of PowerChina International Group attended the forum and delivered speeches.

In his speech, the relevant responsible person of PowerChina International Group stated that this forum, jointly hosted by POWERCHINA, Huawei, and LONGi, aims to promote the multi-scenario application of clean energy in Zambia and to provide the local area with the most reliable, advanced, and safest solutions and development concepts. POWERCHINA has been deeply engaged in Zambia for 25 years, undertaking nearly 50 landmark projects and "small yet beautiful" projects, with a cumulative total installed capacity of power stations built reaching 1,573 MW, accounting for 45% of Zambia's total installed capacity, making it the largest Chinese-funded contracting enterprise in the local area. He suggested implementing the UN 2030 goal of "sustainable energy for all," promoting multi-energy complementarity and the integration of smart PV and energy storage systems, improving electricity coverage in remote areas, and meeting multi-scenario needs such as mining and agriculture. In addition, he expressed the hope that all parties can build an innovative "government + enterprise + financial institution" cooperation model to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. He stated that POWERCHINA is willing to use smart photovoltaic and energy storage technologies to help Zambia achieve sustainable development, deepen China-Zambia green energy cooperation, and jointly create a closer community with a shared future.

In his speech, Albert Halwampa emphasized that Zambia attaches great importance to the development of renewable energy and hopes to learn from China's successful experience in this field. Enterprises such as POWERCHINA, Huawei, and LONGi possess globally leading technological advantages, and the integration of these resources will provide strong support for Zambia to build a green power future. Zambia has a favorable investment environment, social stability, and friendly people, providing investors with a safe and reliable development platform. He called on more enterprises and investors to pay attention to Zambia's new energy development opportunities, actively participate in the construction of the photovoltaic and energy storage sectors, and contribute to promoting Zambia's energy transition and economic growth. The Zambian government will continue to be committed to optimizing investment policies, providing convenient conditions for investors, and working with all parties to push green energy cooperation to a new level.

In his speech, Peter Mumba stated that Zambia's power development goal is to achieve a 100% national electricity access rate by 2030, with 44% of the population connected to the grid and 56% of the population obtaining electricity through off-grid photovoltaics. Photovoltaics and energy storage will play an even more important role. At present, the government has introduced a series of preferential policies, including tax exemptions, to attract investors to enter the photovoltaic sector. He pointed out that China's successful experience in infrastructure and photovoltaics is of important reference significance for Zambia, and he looks forward to promoting the rapid development of Zambia's PV and energy storage industry in the coming years through China-Zambia cooperation, helping to achieve the goal of a green and sustainable energy transition.

In the keynote speech session, ZESCO Limited, POWERCHINA, Huawei, LONGi, and First National Bank of Zambia respectively gave excellent presentations on industry chain-related topics, including Zambia's national net metering plan, typical solutions for multi-scenario PV and energy storage projects, the FusionSolar smart solution, new crystalline silicon modules based on HPBC 2.0 technology, and green financing.

In the project signing session, POWERCHINA, Huawei, and LONGi jointly signed a cooperation framework agreement, and in the future the three parties will carry out closer cooperation in Zambia's new energy sector.

This forum, through the careful planning and meticulous preparation of the three parties, attracted more than 150 representatives from the Zambian government, associations, enterprises, and other sectors. The atmosphere at the venue was lively, bringing new momentum and opportunities for promoting practical cooperation on multi-scenario smart PV and energy storage projects in Zambia.

Representatives of PowerChina International Group and relevant member enterprises of the Group in Zambia attended the event.
