On the morning of November 18 local time, the completion and handover ceremony of the Muthanna Province project of PowerChina's Iraq Model Schools was grandly held at the new campus of the Muthanna Province Girls' Senior High School. Attendees at the ceremony included the representative of the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Cabinet Secretariat and Head of School Construction and National Projects Nadeem Nasser Al-Hamidi, Deputy Chairman of the Muthanna Provincial Council Ghazi Al-Zaidi, Deputy Governor of Muthanna Province Muyad Al-Yasiri, and representatives from various sectors of Muthanna Province.
In his speech, Nadeem Nasser Al-Hamidi stated that this project is Iraq's first school construction project carried out in accordance with modern design, engineering, and architectural standards. The design and construction of the project placed full emphasis on sustainability and modernization, and all schools are equipped with advanced laboratories, libraries, network facilities, and more. These schools will provide students with a more modern learning environment, while also helping to improve teachers' teaching conditions and laying a solid foundation for enhancing the quality of education in Iraq. The project includes different designs for schools with 12, 18, and 24 classrooms to meet the needs of different regions. Each school has been built strictly in accordance with the guidelines and standards of the Iraqi government and the Cabinet Secretary-General, striving to create educational facilities that meet international standards.
In his speech, Ghazi Al-Zaidi stated that today's handover of the project marks a historic leap in the educational infrastructure of Muthanna Province. We thank all participants for their hard work, especially PowerChina for its tremendous contribution during the project's advancement. This project has not only improved the educational conditions in Muthanna Province, but also added infinite possibilities to the future lives of our children.
The Muthanna Province school project comprises a total of 53 schools of various types, with a total construction area of 153,000 square meters. After more than 1,000 days and nights of intensive construction, the project has been successfully completed and handed over. This is the first province among the 679 model school projects undertaken by PowerChina in Iraq to be fully delivered, marking major progress in the construction of the model school project cluster and even in the reconstruction of Iraq's educational infrastructure.
The smooth completion of the Muthanna Province school project not only demonstrates PowerChina's outstanding contract performance capabilities and professionalism, but also signifies that PowerChina's development in Iraq has entered a new stage. PowerChina will continue to deepen cooperation with the Iraqi government and play a greater role in Iraq's future national reconstruction process.
