With the pouring of the final batch of concrete, the Dalang Passenger Train Servicing Depot (hereinafter referred to as the "servicing depot") overhead development complex — constructed by the Guangzhou Engineering Construction Command of Guangzhou Railway Group and built with the participation of China Railway 25th Bureau Group — has completed all pile foundation and pile cap construction tasks, laying a solid foundation for the project's next phase of main structure construction.
The Dalang servicing depot overhead development complex is located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, about 7 kilometers from Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, with a total land area of 23 hectares. It is a large comprehensive passenger train servicing depot. As one of the important supporting facilities of the Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station hub project, the overhead development complex is divided into two parts. The lower structure is constructed first, designed with a total of 44 tracks of various types, serving as the "4S shop" for trains at Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station; the upper structure reserves space for residential housing construction.

According to reports, Guangzhou Railway Group is combining the construction of the Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station railway hub project with shared-ownership housing to carry out the Dalang servicing depot overhead comprehensive development, promoting the unified joint construction of new railway stations and yards with comprehensive land development projects, improving the level of economical and intensive use of railway land, and building the lower servicing depot cover slab first to ensure supporting use for Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station.
"The overhead development complex involves 3,277 pile foundations and 933 pile caps; such a dense quantity is relatively rare in China. The last pile cap in this construction was about 330 cubic meters; after 8 hours of continuous pouring, we successfully completed all pile foundation and pile cap construction," said Chen Yangfan, chief engineer of the China Railway 25th Bureau Group project.
During construction, the pile foundation and pile cap construction volume was huge and the schedule tight. The Guangzhou Engineering Construction Command of Guangzhou Railway Group organized the participating unit China Railway 25th Bureau Group to fully mobilize personnel, materials, and equipment and actively advance refined on-site management. During pile foundation construction, they overcame unfavorable geological conditions of karst development and flexibly selected percussion drills and rotary drilling rigs according to geological survey conditions. At peak times, more than 100 pieces of equipment stood on site and work was fully rolled out, greatly improving construction efficiency and ensuring that construction milestones advanced as planned.
It is reported that the Dalang servicing depot overhead development complex is the first comprehensive-development-type servicing depot project in China and also the servicing depot with the most tracks under construction in Guangdong Province. After completion and commissioning, it will become the only large comprehensive servicing depot serving the Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station hub project. The transport capacity of Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station will be further enhanced, and the layout of the Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station hub project will be further improved. At the same time, it will play a positive role in promoting the station renovation of Guangzhou East Railway Station and Guangzhou Railway Station.
