Autumn is deepening. At the construction site of theZhonghuan City Ring Road Through Project (Urban Section)invested and built by Quanzhou Urban Construction Group, busy figures sketch a vivid picture of the sprint toward the fourth quarter. As of now, the pile foundation construction for the underpass channel of Huanglong South Avenue has been completed, and the main structure of No. 4 pedestrian bridge has been hoisted and closed; meanwhile, pile foundation work is being accelerated on Huanglong North Avenue, Nanhuan Road, and Chifeng Road.
The Zhonghuan City Ring Road Through Project (Urban Section) is an important component of the Zhonghuan City Expressway, with a total investment of approximately 1.6 billion yuan, a road reconstruction length of about 8 kilometers, and a road classification of urban expressway, with a mainline design speed of 60 km/h and a side road design speed of 40 km/h.It comprises four bid sections—Huanglong South Avenue, Nanhuan Road, Chifeng Road, and Huanglong North Avenue—and involves the reconstruction of multiple nodes including continuous viaducts, pedestrian bridges, overpasses, and expressways.Upon completion, the Zhonghuan City Ring Road Through Project (Urban Section) will connect with the already-completed sections of the Zhonghuan City Expressway, forming a closed-loop rapid transit system in the central urban area and enhancing the agglomeration, carrying capacity, and radiating power of the bay-ring central city.
To ensure safe construction on site while minimizing the inconvenience caused to surrounding residents by the project, Quanzhou Urban Construction Group has optimized the construction plan multiple times and, in coordination with local traffic police, adopted measures such as time-based traffic diversion, additional on-site traffic guides, and diversion barriers, ensuring the project is advanced efficiently and rapidly.

Building the first ring-city express line
As the core ring line of Quanzhou's urban expressway network,the Zhonghuan City Expressway crosses Fengze, Licheng, Jinjiang, and other areas, running via Laojun Avenue, Puxian Road, Lianfeng Street, Huanglong North Avenue, Huanglong Bridge, Huanglong South Avenue, Nanhuan Road, Chifeng Road, Fengchi Road, and Jiangbin South Road to the Jinjiang Bridge, with a total length of 43.8 kilometers.It is the first truly ring-city expressway within the central urban area, and the entire line is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2025.
Building a half-hour commuting circle
As an important part of building the urban expressway network system of "three bay rings + central city ring + multi-directional radials," the Zhonghuan City Expressway will also form, together with the First Ring Bay Expressway and the Quanzhou Bay Cross-Sea Bridge, a "figure-8" bay-ring and city-ring rapid transit system for the central urban area, effectively improving the rapid transit efficiency of bay-ring clusters and creating a 30-minute commute within the central urban area.
Connecting important transportation hubs
Along its route, the Zhonghuan City Expressway will connect with important transportation hubs such as the Quanzhou Xifu Toll Station of the Shenhai Expressway, the Quanzhou North Toll Station of the Quanzhou Ring Expressway, the Quanzhou South Toll Station of the Quannan Expressway, the Chidian Toll Station of the Shenhai Expressway, as well as Quanzhou Railway Station and Jinjiang Airport, building an integrated "expressway + high-speed rail" transportation system that lets "vehicles run smoothly on their roads, goods flow smoothly, and people travel smoothly," continuously meeting citizens' new demands for better travel.
