The first pile of the Guangzhou Huadu District No. 1 Middle School Expansion Project was successfully drilled on the 7th, marking the official start of construction of the project.
The Guangzhou Huadu District No. 1 Middle School Expansion Project, constructed by China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group, has a total land area of 56,821.70 square meters, with the new construction portion covering 7,429.70 square meters and a new floor area of 18,002.86 square meters. The construction content mainly includes the new 3# teaching auxiliary building
, 1# dormitory building, 2# dormitory building and other infrastructure, as well as supporting works such as the demolition of the old library, renovation of the grand auditorium, and refurbishment of the east school gate. The 3# teaching auxiliary building under construction is the largest single building in the project, approximately 23.23 meters high, designed with 6 floors, and a maximum span of about 12.5 meters. The project involves a total of 363 piles, all using high-strength prestressed concrete pipe piles PHC500, with a wall thickness of 12.5 cm and pile lengths of 14-28 meters. The test piles are located at the 3# teaching auxiliary building, totaling 3 piles, providing a basis for subsequent construction. To ensure the smooth construction of the first pile, the project department carefully formulated the construction plan, conducted comprehensive technical briefings and safety training for construction personnel, and ensured site leveling and survey setting-out work were in place. Construction strictly follows standards, with tight control over raw material quality and construction techniques, ensuring the safe drilling of the test piles and project quality. The pile foundation construction adopts the static pressure pile method, reducing the vibration, noise, and pollution caused by hammer-driven piling, with minimal impact on the campus and surrounding environment.
A relevant person in charge of the China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group Huadu No. 1 Middle School Expansion Project Department said: "The smooth drilling of the first pile has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the project and greatly encouraged the advancement of the project." Next, the project department will maintain the good momentum, allocate resources reasonably, steadily advance construction, strive to complete the task, and aim to put the project into use as soon as possible.
Founded in 1928, Huadu District No. 1 Middle School is the middle school with the longest history in Huadu District. This expansion will increase the number of classes from 30 to 54, adding 1,200 school places.
