Hualong Net (Reporter Wang Xurui) Recently, the reporter learned from the Chongqing Municipal Water Resources Bureau that the Tiaodeng Reservoir Project in Chongqing, a major national water conservancy project, has successfully achieved first-phase river closure. This marks major progress in the construction of Tiaodeng Reservoir, with the project now fully entering the main structure construction stage of the hub, laying a solid foundation for completing the construction tasks on schedule and giving full play to the project's comprehensive benefits.

The Chongqing Tiaodeng Reservoir Project is located in Kaizhou District. It is one of the 150 major national water conservancy projects and a key project for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the creation of the Wanda-Kai Sichuan-Chongqing coordinated development demonstration zone. The reservoir has a total storage capacity of 106 million cubic meters and is a large (Type II) water conservancy project with comprehensive functions including flood control, water supply, irrigation, and power generation.

According to the person in charge of the construction project department for the Tiaodeng Reservoir hub works of China Energy Engineering Group Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd., since construction began in March, in order to ensure river closure on schedule and quickly begin in-river construction, all participating parties have overcome numerous difficulties. The diversion open channel was made ready for flow 12 days ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for the on-schedule implementation of first-phase river closure and creating favorable conditions for safe flood control in 2025.

It is understood that the Tiaodeng Reservoir hub project adopts a phased and sectioned approach for diversion and dam construction. After the successful first-phase river closure, construction of the jet grouting walls for the upstream and downstream cofferdams will begin immediately. It is expected that by the end of December this year, the earth and rock excavation for the foundation pits of dam sections 9 to 13 and the stilling basin will be completed.

The Tiaodeng Reservoir Project is expected to be completed in April 2028. After completion, the flood control standard for Puli New Area and the streets and townships of Nanmen, Changsha, and Zhaojia will be raised from a return period of once every 2 to 5 years to once every 20 years. It will provide an average annual water supply of 68.58 million cubic meters for production and domestic use in the Puli Industrial New Area and Wutong Township, Yuexi Town, Nanmen Town, and other areas, and resolve irrigation water supply for 51,800 mu of cultivated land.
