Chongqing is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with rivers and gorges embracing each other; it is built along the mountains and thrives along the waters. Recently, the Jiangbeizui Financial Center construction project and its supporting infrastructure project have been successfully completed and put into use.

The Jiangbeizui Financial Center is located at Juxianyan Square in Jiangbeizui, at the spatial junction between the Riverside Park and the Jiangbeizui Central Business District. It is also an important link connecting the city to the river, and an excellent showcase of the development achievements of the Western Financial Center.

However, in the past, Juxianyan Square suffered from serious building decay, poor landscape appearance, and severe separation from surrounding traffic.

In 2020, the square was included in the overall improvement implementation scope of the core area of the Two Rivers and Four Banks. In the early stage of construction, Jiangbei District carried out unified planning and unified design for the square, transforming it into a financial landmark more conducive to financial scenario application and more highlighting financial functions — the Jiangbeizui Financial Center.

The Jiangbeizui Financial Center covers a total area of 99,782 square meters. The renovation and construction content includes a sloping park, an ecological square, and functional buildings. In accordance with the construction goals of "focusing on finance, prioritizing ecology, taking intelligence as the engine, gathering talents, and sharing by all," the Jiangbeizui Financial Center highlights four core functions: the Jiangbeizui Financial Center Digital Exhibition Hall, the permanent venue of the Jiangbeizui Financial Summit, the Western Center of the National Financial Information Platform, and the Jiangbeizui Financial Supermarket, creating a highland for the debut of western finance and a central living room where the river and city meet.

The project started construction in September 2023 and is divided into two engineering implementations:

Jiangbeizui Financial Center construction project. The project has an above-ground building area of 4,396.41 square meters and an underground building area of 10,043.00 square meters, including the Jiangbeizui Financial Center Digital Exhibition Hall, the permanent venue of the Jiangbeizui Financial Summit, the Western Center of the National Financial Information Platform, the Jiangbeizui Financial Supermarket, an underground garage, and supporting rooms.

Overall improvement project of the core area of the Two Rivers and Four Banks — Jiangbeizui Financial Center supporting infrastructure project (Phase I). The project has a hard paving area of 39,057 square meters, an actual green space area of 48,156 square meters, a roof greening area of 8,846 square meters, and a green space rate of 50.80%. It mainly includes greening improvement, square renovation, sidewalk paving renovation, lighting facilities, underpass renovation, security monitoring facilities, traffic guidance system, and supporting comprehensive pipe networks.

Nowadays, the renovated and upgraded Jiangbeizui Financial Center is lush with greenery and has a beautiful environment. It not only provides a good place for nearby office workers to relax and stroll during work breaks, but also provides surrounding citizens with a natural leisure park for entertainment.

In recent years, Chongqing has vigorously promoted the construction of the "Two Rivers and Four Banks" in accordance with the idea of "beautifying key points, connecting along the lines, and improving the overall surface," striving to create a model room and demonstration site of Chongqing's modern international metropolis, so that more people can share the water-friendly shoreline and green shoreline.

Among them, the recent 109-kilometer shoreline is implemented in three steps: ten major public spaces, the riverside connectivity project, and the riverside extension project, totaling 30 projects. At present, 23 projects have been launched, involving 90 kilometers of riverside shoreline; 60 kilometers of riverside shoreline have been completed; 114 kilometers of graded riverside trails have been formed; 14 node public spaces have been opened; 39 new riverside stations have been added; and 223 river access passages have been added.
