According to the United Nations official website, on October 8 local time, the UN Security Council issued a statement strongly condemning the terrorist attack targeting a Chinese company's convoy in Karachi, Pakistan.

The Security Council members expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments of China and Pakistan, and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The Security Council members reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms constitutes a serious threat to international peace and security.

The Security Council members stressed the need to hold accountable the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and supporters of the terrorist attack and to bring them to justice. The Security Council called on all States to cooperate actively with the Governments of China and Pakistan and other relevant authorities in accordance with international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.

The statement said that the Security Council members reaffirmed that any act of terrorism, regardless of its motivation, whenever, wherever and by whomsoever committed, is unacceptable and criminal. All States shall combat by all means threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law, including international human rights law, international refugee law and international humanitarian law.

According to earlier information from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, at around 23:00 local time on October 6, a convoy of the Chinese-funded enterprise Qasim Port Power Generation Co., Ltd. was attacked by terrorists near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. The attack has so far killed 2 Chinese personnel, injured 1 Chinese personnel and caused multiple casualties on the Pakistani side.

The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan strongly condemned this terrorist act, expressed deep mourning for the victims of both countries, extended sincere condolences to the injured and their relatives, and reminded Chinese citizens, enterprises and projects in Pakistan to heighten their vigilance, closely monitor the local security situation, strengthen security measures and make every effort to ensure safety and security.
