Recently, the steel box girder of the Shanghai–Wuhan–Chengdu Bridge Reconstruction Project, built by China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group under agency construction by Hefei Urban Construction Investment Company, was successfully pushed to its destination and precisely set in place. This has laid a solid foundation for the full opening of the auxiliary road bridge.
It is reported that the Shanghai–Wuhan–Chengdu Bridge Reconstruction Project is located at the junction of the Economic Development Zone and Baohe District, starting in the west at the intersection of Fanhua Avenue and Fangting Road, connecting seamlessly with the Fanhua Avenue node project of the Susong Road rapid reconstruction, and extending eastward continuously over the Shiwuli River and the G3 Beijing–Taipei Expressway to the planned Weiyi Road, with the endpoint about 350 m west of Huizhou Avenue, with a total length of 920 m, of which the overpass bridge is 480 m long. The planned red line width is 60 m, and it is an urban arterial road. After reconstruction, the mainline bridge will have three lanes in each direction, the auxiliary road bridge will have two lanes in each direction, and independent non-motorized vehicle lanes and sidewalks will be provided. A pedestrian overpass will be set up at the intersection of Fanhua Avenue and Fangting Road. The contractual construction period is 540 days.
This pushing operation adopted the walking-type incremental launching method, which has the advantages of not affecting the normal passage of vehicles on the expressway below the bridge and a high safety factor. The pushing began on September 19. The steel box girder section is 87.5 m long, and a single steel box girder section plus accessories weighs 1,254 tons. Workers installed a total of 16 sets of walking-type launching devices under the steel box girder, with 2 units per set, totaling 32 units. The workers first raised the entire bridge with hydraulic jacks, and then moved the entire bridge horizontally with the launching devices. Each movement was 40 cm. Under the control of the workers, it "walked" more than 200 times and safely reached the destination on September 27.
To ensure the smooth completion of the pushing work, on the basis of fully automatic CNC walking-type launching equipment, multiple advanced technologies such as process simulation demonstration were added. Based on the smart construction site platform, full-process monitoring was carried out on the mechanical behavior of the entire box girder during pushing, bridge health monitoring, and safety control technologies, ensuring that the pushing stroke was "kept in step" and that the steel box girder could be safely and efficiently set in place.
The Shanghai–Wuhan–Chengdu Bridge Reconstruction Project aims to build a backbone road network connecting urban clusters, and it plays a driving role in improving the urban arterial road network, alleviating traffic pressure, and enhancing the city's comprehensive competitiveness. At the same time, through the implementation of the project, the safety and comfort of current traffic will be further improved, which is of great significance for strengthening the connection between the eastern and western areas, optimizing Hefei's business and investment environment, and promoting sustainable economic and social development.
