Baoding, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) — The Yanzhi River Grand Bridge, the largest-span continuous rigid-frame arch bridge on the Hebei section of the Xiong'an New Area-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway, was successfully closed on the 25th. The bridge was constructed by China Railway 18th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. This marks the smooth completion of the girder-erection and track-laying corridor along the entire line, laying a solid foundation for the early completion and opening of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway.

The Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway runs from Xiong'an New Area to Xinzhou, spanning Hebei and Shanxi provinces. The line starts at Xiong'an Station in the east and ends at Xinzhou West Station in the west, with a main-line length of 342 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

Liu Wei, technical director of the project at China Railway 18th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said that the Yanzhi River Grand Bridge is located in Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, with a total length of 3,748.9 meters. Its continuous rigid-frame arch main span reaches 168 meters, making it the longest-span and most structurally complex continuous rigid-frame arch bridge on the Hebei section of the Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway. During construction, in response to the large span, tight schedule, deep foundation pits and complex girder structure, the builders optimized the construction plan and applied BIM technology and an intelligent monitoring system to ensure the bridge was closed on schedule.

The Xiong'an-Xinzhou High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming corridor of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network and an important east-west corridor in the Xiong'an New Area's "four vertical and two horizontal" regional high-speed railway network plan. Once completed and opened to traffic, the railway will end Fuping County's history of having no railway access and is of great significance for further improving the high-speed railway network in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and promoting connectivity between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei city cluster and the Jinzhong city cluster.
