On September 12, the 2nd Container Port Automation Transformation Development Forum, hosted by the Container Branch of the China Ports Association and co-organized by SANY Marine Heavy Industry, was held in Zhuhai. At the forum, SANY Marine Heavy Industry officially announced: the automation efficiency of the SANY H-Move2.0 RTG has surpassed manual operation efficiency!

The automation efficiency of traditional RTGs ranges between 15 and 16 Mov/h. After 2.0 iteration, the SANY H-Move RTG intelligent transformation system has raised the actual-vessel efficiency at Tianjin Port Pacific International Container Terminal to 20 Mov/h, surpassing manual operation, with an abnormal intervention rate of only 2.78% and an operation ratio improved to 1:6.

This is the first time in the industry that automated RTG efficiency has surpassed manual operation, marking a major breakthrough in China's smart port construction and a key step forward for major ports and terminals in their automation transformation and their pursuit of world-class port status.

SANY carries out H-Move2.0 system automation transformation at Tianjin Port

At the event, Zhang Ruxing, Secretary-General of the Container Branch of the China Ports Association; Fu Weizhong, Chairman of SANY Marine Heavy Industry; Chen Jing, General Manager of SANY Marine Heavy Industry; and more than 200 port experts from Tianjin Port, Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Shanghai Port, Guangzhou Port, Qingdao Port, Liaoning Port, APMT, HIT, ICTSI and other organizations jointly discussed the pain points of terminal automation, single-machine solutions and system solutions.

Zhang Ruxing, Secretary-General of the Container Branch of the China Ports Association, believes that automation transformation is still in a stage of development and improvement, and that the operational efficiency of transformed automated terminals often lacks explosive power; issues such as efficiency, reliability, how to reduce the manual intervention rate and how to improve the control ratio need to be solved.

Fu Weizhong, Chairman of SANY Marine Heavy Industry, stated that SANY Marine Heavy Industry is focusing its efforts on the digital and intelligent field, committed to finding automation solutions that can truly improve efficiency and create greater value for customers.

During the 2.0 intelligent transformation, the SANY H-Move RTG underwent comprehensive technical upgrades, breaking through industry bottlenecks and solving world-class challenges, including:

◆ The H-Move2.0 system no longer requires baseline assistance for yard opening, improving the success rate of opening and reducing the opening time to within 25 seconds.

◆ H-Move2.0 integrates multiple technologies such as GPS, AI vision and 3D scanning imaging to greatly improve signal reliability, ensuring safe high-speed operation of the gantry, with gantry speed exceeding 2 m/s.

◆ The digital twin technology of H-Move2.0 can predict and simulate the container landing trajectory and position, shortening the dynamic landing time from 30 seconds to within 20 seconds.

◆ The anti-collision container system of H-Move2.0 extends scanning from the current bay to the entire stacking area, accurately calculating the optimal running trajectory and improving travel efficiency by 20%.

◆ H-Move2.0 achieves signal reuse and increased redundancy, greatly improving reliability and reducing the manual intervention rate to below 3%; in actual operations of more than 1 million containers, the number of equipment accidents was zero.

After the project transformation was completed, the H-Move2.0 RTG underwent four months of actual-vessel testing at the terminal, and its automated operation efficiency rose to 20 Mov/h, exceeding the efficiency of manual driver operation and successfully passing verification.

In the future, the H-Move system will continue to iterate toward 3.0, achieving a manual intervention rate below 1%, reaching the goal of one operator controlling 10 machines, and continuing to advance toward higher efficiency targets to make terminal operation and maintenance easier.
