Recently, in Section 12 of the civil engineering works for Phase II of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15, the introduction and successful application of advanced slurry treatment equipment not only effectively solved the problems of high shield slurry disposal costs and easy pollution, but also turned this traditionally defined "waste" into a valuable resource, achieving a new leap in resource reuse.

The equipment not only greatly reduced the cost of slurry treatment, but also significantly alleviated the pressure of environmental pollution, adding a notable highlight to the project's green construction.

The project faced the challenge of tunnel sections passing through complex and variable sandstone and sandy mudstone strata. During shield construction, large amounts of slurry with strong flocculation capacity became an urgent problem to solve. If improperly treated, such slurry would not only clog shield segments and affect construction progress, but could also cause long-term pollution to soil and groundwater environments.

The project actively explored environmentally friendly and efficient slurry treatment solutions. After in-depth investigation and repeated discussion, it was decided to introduce a set of slurry treatment equipment integrating a sand washing system and a wastewater treatment system. Through "dry-wet separation" technology, fine sediment particles in the slurry are thoroughly separated from the slurry water and converted into usable fine sand and clean water.

During the initial commissioning of the equipment, problems such as excessively high moisture content in the filter cake and turbid separated water emerged one after another. Facing these challenges, Li Zhongxing led the technical team to act quickly, conduct simulation analysis of equipment performance, and carry out in-depth on-site surveys of the tunnel geological conditions. Through unremitting efforts, the team finally identified the root cause of the problems and successfully adjusted the equipment parameters, significantly improving the slurry treatment effect.

According to reports, this slurry treatment equipment has become an important support for the project's green construction. Sand and gravel, as reusable resources, have brought considerable economic benefits to the site, while the clean water is directly used in the shield tunneling water supply system, realizing circular utilization of water resources. At maximum full-load operation, the entire equipment set can treat 3,000 cubic meters of slurry per day, truly turning shield slurry from waste into treasure.
