Recently, the Shijiaping No. 1 and No. 2 Tunnels of the Xianxi–Furongshan Rural Highway Project in Anhua County, Yiyang City, constructed by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd., were successfully holed through one after another.

The Shijiaping Tunnel is one of the key and difficult works of the Xianfu Highway Project. The Shijiaping No. 1 Tunnel has a total length of 359 m, and the Shijiaping No. 2 Tunnel has a total length of 303 m; both tunnels were driven and holed through by single-head excavation. The tunnel portals are located on the steep slopes on both sides of a mountain gully, imposing great constraints on portal layout. The construction access roads leading to the tunnel portals have large elevation differences and steep gradients, forming a U-shape, which makes construction difficult and limits on-site traffic capacity.

To ensure normal excavation of the Shijiaping Tunnel, the project team, adapting to local conditions, carried out advance planning, scientific management, and rational allocation of production factors such as labor, materials, and machinery, ensuring timely material supply and smooth equipment coordination. During construction, the project team strictly adhered to the principles of "weak blasting, advance pipe forepoling, short advance per round, strong support, early closure, and frequent measurement," implemented advance geological forecasting, monitoring and measurement, and dynamic design for the tunnel, and strictly controlled overbreak and underbreak of the tunnel, thereby ensuring smooth progress of tunnel construction.
