On September 10, the cumulative excavation footage of the tunnels in the Chongqing Wushan Corridor Project recently exceeded 1,000 meters, of which Tunnel No. 1 reached a cumulative footage of 804.5 meters and Tunnel No. 2 reached a cumulative footage of 199 meters, laying a solid foundation for the full-line breakthrough.

The Wushan mine has a resource reserve of approximately 130 million tons, with a designed annual output of 4 million tons. If traditional truck transport were relied upon to ship mineral products out by road, it would cause problems such as local traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and road damage, creating certain disturbances for local residents.

The Wushan Corridor Project is located in Wushan County, Chongqing Municipality, known as the "Gateway to Eastern Chongqing," starting at the mine industrial plaza and ending at the Bianyuxi Wharf in Sanxi Township. The project aims to create a regional cargo exchange corridor of "mine—transfer stockyard—wharf," conveying stone materials via belt conveyor, effectively solving problems such as dust and noise pollution caused by truck transport of ore and material spillage during transport, and greatly reducing the energy consumed in transportation.

During construction, the project team faced challenges including relatively high safety and environmental protection risks and difficult transport of construction materials, and adopted various advanced technologies and methods to ensure the smooth progress of all procedures. For example, the project installed an intelligent monitoring system covering the entire work area, optimized and improved the safety control system, and promptly identified and eliminated construction safety hazards; strictly implemented national and local environmental protection requirements, established and improved an environmental protection system, promptly deployed water trucks, fog cannon machines, green netting, greenery, and other materials and equipment, and organized environmental protection publicity activities multiple times, fostering a strong atmosphere of jointly building a beautiful ecology and achieving safe and green construction.

According to reports, the Wushan Corridor Project plans to build a long-distance belt conveyor system of about 9 kilometers, of which Tunnel No. 1 is 3,740 meters long, Tunnel No. 2 is 538 meters long, and Tunnel No. 3 is 4,365 meters long. Once completed, the project will provide land and waterway transport services for local mineral resource development and the outward shipment of agricultural and sideline products, promoting economic and social development along the route.
