Yunshan Tunnel

Recently, the Guangzhou Baiyun Avenue Underpass Tunnel Project and the Yuncheng East Road Tunnel Extension Project (hereinafter referred to as the "Baiyun Two Tunnels Project") successively won the Guangdong Provincial Construction Engineering Quality Structure Award and the Guangzhou Construction Engineering Structure Quality Award. The main line tunnel of the former, the "Yunshan Tunnel," is the first two-way eight-lane underpass tunnel in Guangzhou, while the latter is the first tunnel in Guangzhou to have an old tunnel demolished and be extended and rebuilt in situ.

Yuncheng East Road Tunnel

The Baiyun Two Tunnels Project commenced construction in May 2021 and was completed and opened to traffic in March 2023. The open-cut sections of the two tunnels adopt a U-shaped structural form, while the buried sections adopt a single-box double-cell structural form. During project construction, in response to the characteristics of the project area, including great difficulty in traffic diversion, high difficulty in relocating complex underground pipelines, mass concrete pouring, and great construction difficulty due to location in water-rich strata or karst development areas, solutions were formulated scientifically, and eight new construction technologies, including the steel-reinforced cement-soil composite mixing pile support structure technology and BIM-based pipeline integration technology, were comprehensively applied. Strict control was exercised over the single-side formwork process, bored pile quality, and inspection and acceptance, overcoming numerous difficulties and ensuring both project quality and safety.

After the project opened to traffic, it effectively alleviated traffic pressure in Baiyun New Town and plays an important role in comprehensively improving the surrounding landscape and urban space and further optimizing the road network structure of Baiyun New Town. At the same time, the open space above the two tunnels directly connects the Baiyun International Convention Center and adjacent plots, promoting high-quality economic development of the surrounding areas and realizing to a greater extent the pattern of integrating green hills into the city.
